Implementing the 36th session program, on August 21 at Dien Hong Hall, National Assembly House, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee organized a question-and-answer session on the implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023 for 2 groups of issues.

Attending the question-and-answer session were comrades: Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Party Central Committee member, Vice President; comrades of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Ministers; representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches.

The question and answer session was connected online with 62 National Assembly delegations in provinces and centrally-run cities.

Speaking at the opening of the question-and-answer session, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: At the 36th Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee conducted question-and-answer activities to review the implementation of the Government, ministries and branches on 6 Resolutions on question-and-answer and thematic supervision of the National Assembly Standing Committee from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: This is the first time in the term of the 15th National Assembly that the National Assembly Standing Committee has carried out the activity of "re-supervision", demonstrating the responsibility of the National Assembly Standing Committee in supervising to the end the implementation of the requests and recommendations of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee; thereby comprehensively assessing and clarifying the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, thereby finding solutions to promptly remove them, further enhancing the responsibility of the agencies under supervision. At the same time, it also demonstrates the companionship of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee with the Government in implementing and carrying out the requirements set forth by the National Assembly Standing Committee in resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning.

The issues and fields that the National Assembly Standing Committee supervises and questions are all important and of great interest to voters and the people. Through reports and practical results, it can be seen that the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee has achieved many remarkable results, creating positive changes, demonstrating the determination and high sense of responsibility of the Government, the Prime Minister, members of the Government and heads of sectors, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security and foreign affairs; however, some implementation contents are still slow, some effective contents and implementation results have not met requirements.

According to the program of the question-and-answer session, the National Assembly deputies will question two groups of issues: the first group of issues related to the fields of industry and trade; agriculture and rural development; culture, sports and tourism; the second group of issues related to the fields of justice; internal affairs; security, order and social safety; inspection; court; and prosecution.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man believes that with the intelligence, high sense of responsibility, practical work experience, deep expertise and a firm grasp of the actual situation in localities and bases of the National Assembly deputies, the question and answer session will take place in an exciting and constructive spirit, with a lot of information reflecting the actual situation, with many proposals, recommendations and suggestions for the Government, Ministers and Heads of sectors in directing and operating, overcoming limitations, resolving difficulties and problems, meeting the expectations of voters and people nationwide.

At the question-and-answer session, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong presented a report summarizing the content of the examination by the Ethnic Council and the National Assembly Committees; and reported the opinions of the People's Petition Committee on the implementation of the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term to the end of 2023.

Concluding the question and answer session on the first group of issues, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai said: The National Assembly deputies conducted questions on three areas: Agriculture and rural development; industry and trade; culture, sports and tourism. Of these, 30 deputies questioned and 6 deputies debated.

In general, the questioning session was still lively, responsible, frank and constructive; the questions of the National Assembly deputies closely followed the content of the questioning. The National Assembly Standing Committee highly appreciated the Ministers and Heads of sectors for preparing the content well, focusing on answering the issues that the National Assembly deputies were interested in; explaining quite fully the remaining issues and limitations. At the same time, it acknowledged the efforts of the Ministers in implementing the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee and proposing solutions to overcome the shortcomings within their scope of responsibility.

The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that the contents of the questioning field will be concluded by Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man tomorrow morning (August 22). The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will also issue a resolution on the contents of the questioning of the Government and relevant agencies for implementation.
