In Quang Tri town, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong inspected the emergency embankment project to prevent landslides on the Thach Han riverbank passing through Hai Le commune. Currently, the project has completed about 75% of the volume.
After the on-site inspection, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong acknowledged and commended the proactive and drastic response to storm No. 6 in the localities. Note that although the rain has stopped, the water level in the rivers is still rising. Along with the influence of the circulation of storm No. 6, it is likely to continue to cause heavy rain.
Therefore, it is recommended that localities absolutely must not be negligent, lose vigilance, be passive, or surprised; strictly implement the assignment of on-duty staff, closely monitor the development of floods and rains to proactively deploy response plans.
Direct and guide people to absolutely not go through flooded culverts or roads; do not fish or collect firewood on rivers.
Request the contractor of the My Thuy port construction project to repair the damage and promptly resume construction when weather conditions permit to ensure progress.
For the emergency anti-erosion embankment project on the Thach Han riverbank passing through Hai Le commune, the investor is requested to urgently complete the remaining items.
On the side of the People's Committee of Quang Tri town, it is necessary to continue to mobilize and have a plan to support people in the landslide-affected area to relocate to resettlement areas to ensure safety.
