Can Tho 'joins hands' with Thu Duc and Thanh Hoa to promote investment

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City pledged that the city will accompany, create all conditions and provide the most active support for businesses and investors when they come to invest in the locality.

The above commitment was made by Mr. Tran Viet Truong - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - at the Investment and Trade Promotion Conference between Can Tho City - Thu Duc City (HCMC) and Thanh Hoa Province, which took place on the afternoon of August 16.

At the conference, the leaders of the three localities informed about the strengths and plans of the localities to about 350 delegates, representing 220 enterprises of the three localities attending. Thereby, to invite investors and enterprises to do business; discuss plans to strengthen the connection between localities and enterprises in each locality with each other...

Mr. Tran Viet Truong introduced the strengths of Can Tho City to investors and businesses, such as its central location in the Mekong Delta, its seamless and interconnected road, air and waterway transport systems, and the future formation of a logistics system for the entire Mekong Delta region. In addition, Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo sets the goal that by 2030, Can Tho will become an ecological, civilized and modern city; the center and core urban area of ​​the Mekong Delta region.

Mr. Truong cited the assessment of many investors that Can Tho has a lot of potential thanks to its geographical location and increasingly complete transportation system. The Central Government has been focusing many resources on investing in the development of the Mekong Delta region, including Can Tho. Thereby, creating increasingly favorable connections between Can Tho and other provinces in the region and Ho Chi Minh City, and other regions.

“Can Tho City will accompany, create all conditions and provide the most active support for businesses and investors when they come to do business in the City,” the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City pledged.

On the side of Thu Duc City - Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung said that Thu Duc is the first administrative unit to pilot the model of a city within a city. After 3 years of establishment, Thu Duc City has completed its special local government apparatus, accelerated investment with a series of infrastructure projects serving socio-economic development, opening up investment opportunities for businesses.

Thu Duc City is focusing on forming and developing 11 urban areas based on science, technology and innovation, which is a condition for Thu Duc to become the "nucleus" to promote economic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the key economic region of the South.

A representative of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association said that the locality has a favorable location, with all types of transportation, from road, waterway, maritime to rail and air. In particular, Nghi Son Economic Zone was selected by the Government as one of the eight key coastal economic zones, with the most attractive investment incentive policies in the country. Thanh Hoa province has been approved by the Prime Minister to plan 19 external industrial parks and 115 industrial clusters, with advantages in land and human resources.

On the sidelines of the conference, there is also an exhibition space, with 70 booths displaying products and industries produced and traded by businesses in the 3 localities. The activity aims to introduce and support the connection of purchasing units and distributors of the 3 localities to seek opportunities for cooperation, investment and market expansion.

At this event, the Investment Promotion Center, Business Association, and Entrepreneurs Association of the three localities signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the units.
