For public universities with level 2 autonomy, tuition fees are determined to be a maximum of 2.5 times the tuition fee ceiling of non-autonomous universities corresponding to each sector and each academic year. According to the enrollment plan announced by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, in 2024 the school will have 8 training programs with the lowest tuition fees ranging from 30 million VND to the highest of 807 million VND/year. Specifically, the standard programs taught in Vietnamese; Talent program; Vietnam - France High Quality Engineer Program (PFIEV) have tuition fees of about 15 million VND/semester. Tuition fees for programs taught in English; Advanced programs taught entirely in English are about 40 million VND/semester (excluding the Pre-English semester). For the international transfer program, in the first 2 - 2.5 years, the tuition fee is about 40 million VND/semester. From the last 2 - 2.5 years of transferring to a partner university, the tuition fee is about 566 - 807 million VND/year.

Previously, in early April, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law also announced the new tuition fee for the 2023-2024 school year. This fee is significantly higher than the previous school year. Students pay the second semester tuition fee according to the new fee and pay the remaining amount of the first semester. At the same time, the school also announced the tuition fee for the 2024-2025 school year, accordingly, the majors increased from over 2 million VND to about 16 million VND/school year depending on the program.

Regarding the concerns of candidates and their families about the tuition fee increase next school year, Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong - Vice Principal of Hanoi University shared that in order to study their favorite major, candidates can consider some points such as choosing a major at a school with reasonable tuition fees that their family can afford. Some universities that are not fully autonomous in their regular and investment expenses may have lower tuition fees than fully autonomous schools. In particular, according to Ms. Phuong, students need to try to study well to receive scholarships to encourage learning. If students have good academic performance or better, they have the opportunity to receive scholarships. Scholarship levels can range from 100 - 120% of tuition fees. For students with difficult economic circumstances, it is advisable to apply many measures to save money at the same time. In addition, students can also study and work part-time starting from the second year to cover part of tuition or living expenses.
