Along with that, the planned area for construction has also increased from 102 hectares to 251 hectares, the largest scale in the North.

The entire Ngoc Hoi station complex is determined to be built in Ngoc Hoi commune and some neighboring communes in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi.

After nearly 20 years of construction of the Yen Vien - Ngoc Hoi urban railway line No. 1, up to now, only about 30% of the Ngoc Hoi station area has been cleared, the rest is still rice fields and houses of the people.

Because the land was a rice field planned to build Ngoc Hoi depot decades ago, most of the area is now abandoned and flooded.

Part of the area planned as a depot in Nhi Chau village, Lien Ninh commune is a pond, so people are currently using it to raise fish and provide fishing services.

The main road to the Ngoc Hoi depot project is currently very narrow, only wide enough for one car to pass.

The Ministry of Transport agreed with the Hanoi People's Committee to build Ngoc Hoi depot into a station complex for national trains, including high-speed trains in the future, while Hanoi station will become an inner-city station.

According to the draft detailed construction plan of Ngoc Hoi station, from now until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Ngoc Hoi station will be about 251 hectares wide. Of which, the high-speed railway station is 8 hectares, the depot area is 102 hectares; the national railway station is 14.6 hectares, the freight station is 24.6 hectares; the urban railway depot area is 21 hectares; the technical infrastructure system serving the general operation of Ngoc Hoi station is 18.5 hectares...

The Ministry of Transport has determined that national railway lines do not run to Hanoi station as they have in the past, including the high-speed railway line that will be built in the future, but only run to Ngoc Hoi station. Therefore, Ngoc Hoi station is determined to be the terminus of the national railway and also the terminus - where high-speed railway passenger and freight trains are established in the southern area of ​​Hanoi.
