With dynamism, a keen grasp of market demand and a high sense of responsibility, Mr. Nguyen Minh Lap - Deputy Director of Hung Long Agricultural Service Cooperative, Hung Long Commune, Yen Lap District has contributed to making the cooperative's activities increasingly stable.
Mr. Lap advises people on how to use pesticides safely and effectively.
Hung Long Agricultural Service Cooperative currently operates mainly in the field of providing input material services for agricultural production; rural market management services at commune level, linking production organization and consumption of agricultural products.
Mr. Lap was born in 1968, is a Muong ethnic, has been attached to the fields since childhood, so he understands the customs, habits, and farming methods of the people. As Deputy Director of the Cooperative, Mr. Lap has made important contributions in advising and building plans to help the Cooperative develop sustainably. He always listens and cares about the needs of the Cooperative members, proposing practical measures to improve the lives and increase income for members and associated production households.
Realizing the importance of supplying agricultural materials and fertilizers at reasonable prices, Mr. Lap actively and effectively implemented the agricultural material supply service and the deferred fertilizer payment model with the cooperative. The cooperative selected reputable and quality agricultural material suppliers and supplied them to members according to the agreed method on the basis of ensuring stable market prices.
In addition to the types of services serving traditional agricultural production, in recent years, Mr. Lap and the Board of Directors of the Cooperative have made great efforts in managing production, business, changing crop structure, and finding markets for products for members and farmers. The Cooperative has acted as a focal point to connect with businesses to implement the model of growing chili and melon for export. The model has developed strongly in the past 3 years, this winter-spring crop, the Cooperative's chili growing area is about 10 hectares.
Mr. Lap said: “In an effort to improve operational efficiency, the Cooperative has researched and approached new production models, contributing to diversifying crops and increasing consumption for farmers. With production linkage models, the Cooperative has promoted and required members to strictly follow planting and care processes to ensure productivity and quality. During the planting process, the Cooperative accompanies businesses to ensure technical factors and fertilization schedules of Cooperative members to ensure products meet standards.”
To update new technical advances in farming, he actively participates in seminars and training courses on the application of science and technology in agricultural production and visits good models and effective practices in and outside the province to learn more production experience. From there, he advises people to use them to increase productivity and efficiency per unit of cultivated land area.
Up to now, the cooperative has achieved initial results, including Mr. Lap's personal mark. On average, the cooperative annually provides people with nearly 2 tons of rice and corn seeds, nearly 100 tons of fertilizer, and over 90 tons of animal feed. Chili output through linkages averages over 100 tons of products/year, and the cooperative's revenue reaches 3-4 billion VND/year.
With his dedication and enthusiasm for work, Mr. Lap is appreciated for his important contributions to the development and movement of the Cooperative. He received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Lap district at the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Yen Lap district in 2024.
