Naval Region 5 is assigned to manage the Southwestern sea and islands from the Ganh Hao estuary (Bac Lieu province) to Ha Tien (Kien Giang province). The Southwestern sea has more than 150 large and small islands, bordering the seas of Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia. This is a sea area of special importance in terms of economy, politics, national defense and security.
During the 2024 Lunar New Year, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 5 from the mainland to remote islands are always determined to carry out assigned tasks with the spirit of "enjoying spring, welcoming Tet, being ready to fight"; not missing or missing targets, being passive or surprised in any situation; firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland so that the people can welcome a joyful, warm and peaceful spring.
