Leaders of Laos, China, Cambodia, Cuba, Russia, North Korea, India and ASEAN countries sent telegrams and letters congratulating the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
In their congratulatory messages, senior Lao leaders congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in building, protecting and developing the country over the past 78 years, considering this a source of encouragement and strong motivation for the development of Laos.
Lao leaders thanked Vietnam for its valuable, timely and effective support and assistance, affirming that they will continue to work with Vietnam to preserve and nurture the rare relationship that will last forever, according to a September 2 statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders of the country affirmed that they attach great importance to developing relations between the two parties and countries, and wish to strengthen strategic exchanges with Vietnam, deepen cooperation in various fields, bring more benefits to the people of the two countries, and contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

Acting Head of State and President of the Senate of Cambodia Say Chhum, Prime Minister Hun Manet and President of the National Assembly Khuon Sudary highly appreciated the development in the relations between Vietnam and Cambodia. The Cambodian leaders expressed their desire to continue to cooperate closely with the Vietnamese side to consolidate and develop the bilateral relationship more and more sustainably, for the common interests of both countries.
The Cuban leaders expressed pride in the historical solidarity that has been nurtured and strengthened in the common struggle for independence, freedom and development, and affirmed their desire to continue to further promote the special traditional relationship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
President Vladimir Putin and Russian leaders affirmed that Vietnam is Russia's traditional and reliable partner in the Asia-Pacific region, and hoped that the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to be strengthened in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks, in a variety of fields - politics, economics - trade, culture, education - training.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Prime Minister Kim Tok-hun congratulated the Vietnamese people on their many achievements in national construction and development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In their congratulatory messages, the Indian leaders reviewed the history of relations between India and Vietnam, assessing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries as a testament to trust, mutual understanding and common values, creating a bond between the peoples of the two sides.
The Indian leaders affirmed that Vietnam is an important pillar of India’s Act East Policy and Indo-Pacific vision. The cooperative efforts of the two sides not only contribute to the prosperity and stability of each country, but also contribute positively to the broader peace, stability and development in the Indo-Pacific region and the world.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo expressed his belief that the strategic partnership between the two countries over the past decade is a strong foundation to deal with current and future challenges, and affirmed Indonesia's commitment to continue strengthening cooperation with Vietnam.
Malaysian King Abdullah Riayatuddin expressed his delight at the growing bilateral cooperation, believing that with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2023, cooperation between the two countries will continue to benefit the people and deepen the bond between the two countries.
Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos emphasized that the Philippines always considers Vietnam a natural partner in the region, wishing to further deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries within the bilateral framework as well as within ASEAN, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026.
In a statement posted on the US State Department website on September 1, Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent his best wishes to Vietnam on the occasion of its 78th National Day. The US supports a strong, prosperous, and independent Vietnam and looks forward to working together towards the common goal of a prosperous, open, and peaceful Indo-Pacific region.
"I look forward to President Biden's historic visit to Hanoi on September 10 to celebrate all that has been achieved and plan for our shared future," said Mr. Blinken.
