In 2024, under the correct leadership of the Party, Government and State, Vietnam's economy has had strong growth, core inflation has been controlled.
2025 is a "golden" opportunity for Vietnam to take off - that is what the Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue, shared with the Vietnam News Agency reporter in Laos.
In the context of the regional and world situation having many rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments, especially the economy having many potential and risks of inflation, the country has had a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate in 2024 reaching 7.09%, raising the GDP scale of the economy to 11,512 trillion VND, GDP per capita reaching 4,700 USD/person, an increase of 377 USD compared to 2023 and to make this miracle, we must mention the correct leadership of the Party, State and the support and solidarity of all people.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue, the country has never had such outstanding import-export figures with the total annual turnover reaching a new record of nearly 800 billion USD, up 15.4% over the previous year, especially exports reaching 405.53 billion USD, up 14.3%, more than twice the target. This is an outstanding achievement and one of the main drivers of economic growth in 2024.
From the perspective of a Vietnamese businessman living abroad, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue realized that overseas Vietnamese are also excited to see the country's economic growth index developing.
In the last months of 2024, General Secretary To Lam signed and issued Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

This Resolution takes the purpose of developing science, technology, and innovation as the decisive factor for national development; as the prerequisite and the best opportunity for our country to develop richly and powerfully in the new era - the era of national development.
According to the Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad, the Party and State are currently trying to streamline and rearrange personnel, and so far, the first step is Resolution 57 focusing on developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue said that science and technology is a key industry, a criterion for all developing countries and Vietnam is also shaping this. When focusing on the above issue, Vietnam is also on par with Japan, Korea and surrounding countries. According to him, Vietnam has a foundation and this is a "golden" opportunity for the country to "take off."
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Hue, Vietnam needs to take reasonable steps to continue to effectively use human resources after streamlining the payroll, and have policies to promote human resources subject to streamlining to continue contributing to the country.
This is also the force to create leverage for people, from urban to rural areas, to continue to contribute to the economic development of the country.
The Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Business Association emphasized that in recent years, countries such as Japan, South Korea and Singapore have prepared very carefully in terms of human resources for the semiconductor industry.
Over the past four years, Vietnam has also prepared relatively well and only needs further training, this human resource can meet the development needs of the current semiconductor industry.
In recent times, Vietnam has organized seminars and exhibitions on the semiconductor industry, showing that the country has enough production capacity. These are the spearheads in digital transformation so that Vietnam can stand shoulder to shoulder with other countries./.
