In June, the average on-time performance (OTP) of the Vietnamese aviation industry recorded a sharp decline, reaching 69.3% - down 12.9 percentage points compared to the previous month.

Of which, Bamboo Airways is the airline with the highest on-time flight rate (followed by Pacific Airlines, Vietnam Airlines...) with 88.3% of flights taking off on time in June - an increase of 2.8 percentage points compared to May and is the only airline with an on-time rate increase compared to the previous month.

The industry-wide cancellation rate in June remained the same as in May, at 0.5%.

In early July, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam sent a document to domestic airlines, requesting them to actively work with aircraft leasing partners around the world to search for aircraft, supplement transport forces and study increasing capacity on domestic routes and tourism routes.

In fact, domestic airlines have been making efforts to welcome more aircraft to increase capacity in the context of a sharp decline in domestic ticket supply due to aircraft scarcity.

Of which, Bamboo Airways has continuously leased 3 more A320 aircraft since the beginning of the year, aiming to increase its fleet size to 12 aircraft in 2024.

Vietnam Airlines just received another A320 aircraft in early July. Pacific Airlines announced receiving another Airbus A321 aircraft leased from Vietnam Airlines to put into operation.

Based on the fleet added from now until the end of the year, airlines are actively increasing the exploitation of many domestic and international routes. Specifically, Vietnam Airlines is increasing its exploitation on domestic routes such as Hanoi - Da Lat, Hanoi - Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City - Chu Lai... Pacific Airlines focuses on operating routes between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Da Nang, Chu Lai.

Bamboo Airways also plans to increase the frequency of its operating routes from now until the end of the year, reopen some domestic routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City - Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc... and study the re-opening of regular international routes such as Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok (Thailand), to meet people's travel needs.

With the addition of more planes and increased flight frequency from airlines in recent times, it is noted that airfares have cooled down.
