To minimize the risk of fire and explosion during the hot season, the Military Command of Ha Tinh province directs agencies and units to always focus on the motto "prevention is key, timely and effective treatment".
Officers and staff of the Training Department inspect, preserve and maintain fire and explosion prevention equipment to ensure readiness to mobilize when situations arise.
Early in the morning, at the military supply and fuel depot area of the Logistics Department (Provincial Military Command), it was already hot and humid. Therefore, the new working day of Captain Hoang Trong Hung - fuel depot keeper began by checking the valve system, tanks, safety work... This is considered one of the immutable principles in the process of performing the duties of a depot keeper.
Captain Hoang Trong Hung said: “During the hot season, the risk of fire and explosion is very high, so the warehouse system, tanks, pipelines, breathing valves, cooling systems, and the unit's gasoline and oil volumes... are always on high alert, ensuring absolute safety. Every day, we have to check the safety system, temperature, and humidity to "cool down" by opening the ventilation doors, or operating the automatic water spray pump system to cool down."
Logistics Department staff check the fire protection system at the oil depot.
Warehouse K19 (under the Technical Department, Provincial Military Command) is a unit that manages a large amount of weapons and ammunition, so fire and explosion prevention here is always a top priority.
To ensure fire and explosion safety, this unit has proactively practiced and rehearsed response situations in a smooth, flexible and quick manner following the motto "4 on-site". In addition, Warehouse K19 has also been fully equipped with synchronous fire and explosion prevention equipment such as fire extinguishers, water pumps, hooks, steel wool, etc.
Captain Nguyen Duy Giang - Head of Warehouse K19 said: “During the peak of hot weather, just a small mistake can cause unsafety and fire. To proactively deal with the risk of fire and explosion, along with proactively preparing well in terms of plans, forces, means and materials for the task, we always attach importance to the motto "strong perimeter, safe warehouse". In particular, we always have to closely monitor the situation to promptly cool down the warehouse system during hot weather, ensuring that the temperature inside the warehouse is always 3-5 degrees Celsius lower than outside".
K19 Warehouse staff arrange and rotate ammunition and weapon boxes to prevent fire and explosion.
"Proactively developing plans, preparing forces and means to respond promptly and effectively" is the guiding principle throughout fire and explosion prevention work in agencies and units under the Provincial Military Command.
To proactively deal with the risks of fire and explosion, leaders and commanders of units have focused on educating and raising awareness and responsibility for each officer and employee regarding fire and explosion prevention. At the same time, leaders and commanders of units regularly grasp the current situation of each warehouse, station and workshop system to have measures to overcome, repair and minimize the risk of fire and explosion.
Along with that, the system of fire prevention plans and strategies is regularly supplemented and practiced by agencies and units. Materials and means of fire prevention such as fire extinguishers, blowers, ladders, hooks, water sources, sand pits, etc. are always strictly checked and fully supplemented, ready to handle when situations arise.
Inspection, maintenance and preservation of fire and explosion prevention systems at the Military Warehouse, Provincial Military Command are regularly deployed.
For special units such as military warehouses, petrol warehouses, ammunition warehouses... always thoroughly grasp and implement the motto "Proactively prevent fire and explosion, focus on prevention"; strictly implement regulations on safety of warehouses, stations and workshops.
These units with high risk of insecurity have also focused on maintaining a routine of inspection, assessment, and classification of quality and types; promptly detecting and transferring expired weapons and ammunition; checking fire protection equipment and lightning protection systems to have plans for replenishment and repair; organizing the clearing and cleaning of fire protection runways around the barracks...
The Military Command of Son Kim 1 Commune (Huong Son) discussed plans to prevent fires and explosions to protect agencies and forests during the hot season.
In addition to ensuring fire and explosion safety in units and forces, military units, militia and self-defense forces in Ha Tinh have also developed plans and arranged standing forces (150-200 people/district), prepared enough tools and equipment (blowers, knives, flashlights...) to be ready to participate in forest fire prevention when mobilized. This is also considered a reliable standing force, most effective in responding when forest fires occur during this hot season in localities.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tu Tai - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command said: "To limit the risk of fire and explosion, the Provincial Military Command has directed agencies and units to proactively do a good job of fire and explosion prevention. Thereby, contributing to maintaining the safety of barracks, warehouses, weapons, equipment, protecting forests and flammable civilian targets, helping to increase the fighting strength of the provincial military units".
