The audience listed the next generation of good singers such as Cam Van, Nguyen Le Thu, Nha Phuong, Hoa My, Thanh Lan...

Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, Ha Tran, Lan Nha... scored in the "listenable" list.

- Whether we like it or not, we have to see that a generation that became famous with Trinh's music is gradually leaving the stage. Among them, there are people who have passed away. For example, I take Thai Thanh, Le Thu, Ngoc Lan...

This is something that has troubled the family for a long time. Is Trinh's music just going to stop there?

In recent years, instead of preferring K-pop and European and American music, young people tend to listen to Vietnamese music more.

* Which young artist impressed your family the most?

- A few years ago, it was Ha Le and the Trinh Contemporary project. I still remember the first time Ha Le visited my family. She was very nervous when she played the Trinh songs that she sang, waiting for the family members' reactions.

Ms. Dieu (designer Trinh Hoang Dieu) is the most "picky" person in the family, but after hearing this, she said "wow" because she was surprised and delighted.

Most recently, we can mention the producer Onionn, Tung Leo. I have met them many times and must say those were interesting meetings.

* Young singers are often criticized for "ruining" Trinh's music. Why are young people easily scrutinized and criticized?

- Not only young artists but also famous artists are criticized. For example, most recently, the audience criticized singer My Linh for singing the wrong lyrics. I think all criticism and comments come from the love for Trinh's music. You have to love it so much to criticize, to find mistakes, to speak up to criticize even the smallest mistakes.

However, there are mistakes that we can understand. My Linh or some other singers sing the wrong lyrics, sometimes not because of themselves but because of many other reasons (for example, it could be because of a music book or a book that printed the wrong lyrics).

Each generation loves Trinh's music in its own way. It is very difficult to change established views, especially the older generation. They want to "protect" Trinh's music in the way they think is best and most correct. The family really appreciates and respects their thoughts.

* Many people say that the problem lies in young people today paying too much attention to technical factors instead of the spirit and ideology of Trinh Cong Son's music. What they say is not completely unreasonable, madam?

- That's right. There are some young singers who have good vocal techniques but are not successful because they have not really entered or felt the space and spirit of Trinh Cong Son's music.

But there are also farmers who do not have formal music training but their singing is very touching and beautiful. Why is that?

Because Mr. Son's music is close to all classes of people, anyone can see a glimpse of their soul in it.

They sing Trinh's music, and at the same time sing their feelings.

* Not long ago, there was a music project called Gen Z and Trinh , which gathered popular Gen Z artists such as My Anh, Juky San, Kien Trinh, Hoang Duyen, Obito and Hoang Dung. Did you like it?

- I listened to everything. Personally, I think they sing strangely and I respect them.

That is a completely different generation from ours. They have the right to express Trinh's music the way they think. As long as they don't go too far to distort or falsify Trinh's lyrics, that's fine.

I really like the answer of saxophone artist Tran Manh Tuan in the article in Tuoi Tre newspaper on March 29.

That: "What you do is not necessarily wrong. I do not accept it, I cannot stand it, it does not mean you are bad. If you do not accept it, then do not rush to judge and throw stones."

And Tran Manh Tuan is right, we should be happy that you guys still listen and want to renew Trinh's music; it's sad that no one listens and renews it.

- Mr. Son always likes and respects new things. No matter what age.

Tran Manh Tuan, Quang Dung, Hong Nhung and many other singers also came to Son when they were very young.

That's why my family and I have been maintaining activities such as meeting and encouraging young singers, and giving them some ideas to help them understand Trinh's music better.
