6 communes meet advanced new rural standards
In 2015, the Party Committee, government and people of Ngoc My commune (Quoc Oai district) happily received the certificate of recognition as a commune meeting new rural standards. This is also one of the first localities in Quoc Oai district to achieve this achievement.
Determining that the construction of new rural areas has no end, from 2016 to now, Ngoc My commune has continued to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, aiming to bring the locality to meet the advanced new rural standards. About 157 billion VND has been mobilized by the locality to complete and improve 19 criteria, of which nearly 12 billion VND is socialized capital from the people.
Ngoc My Commune Party Secretary Nguyen Xuan Tuyen said that with the attention and investment of Hanoi City and Quoc Oai District, and the joint efforts and consensus of all classes of people, the local appearance has had many positive changes. The infrastructure increasingly meets the needs of the people.
“Recently, Ngoc My commune was awarded a certificate of recognition for meeting advanced new rural standards by the Hanoi People's Committee. The people of the two villages in the commune, along with the Party Committee and the government, are very excited. This is a great honor for the locality, a result of the Party's will and the people's hearts…” - Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuyen emphasized.
Along with Ngoc My commune, in the second quarter of 2024, two other communes of Quoc Oai district, Sai Son and Nghia Huong, were also recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as meeting advanced new rural standards. Accordingly, up to now, Quoc Oai district has had a total of 6 communes reaching the advanced new rural standard. Previously, 3 communes were recognized as meeting the standards: Phu Cat, Dai Thanh and Tan Hoa.
Strive to finish 1 year early
Building new rural areas is one of the important goals and tasks stated in the resolution of the 23rd Party Congress of Quoc Oai district for the 2021-2025 term. Accordingly, the whole district strives to have 8 communes recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards by 2025.
In 2024, Quoc Oai district strives to bring Can Huu and Ngoc Liep communes to the advanced new rural finish line; thereby completing the target of building advanced new rural communes for the entire period of 2021 - 2025 1 year ahead of schedule.
Vice Chairman of Quoc Oai District People's Committee Pham Quang Tuan said that in the process of building new rural areas, the locality always identifies the people as the main subject. Therefore, the implementation always ensures that "people know, people discuss, people do, people check - supervise and people benefit".
“Thanks to that policy, the emulation movements launched by the locality always receive the consensus and great support of all classes of people. Especially in upgrading transport infrastructure, perfecting cultural institutions, building bright, green, clean, beautiful and safe rural landscapes” - Mr. Pham Quang Tuan shared more.
To complete the target of the number of communes meeting the advanced new rural standards one year ahead of schedule according to the resolution of the 23rd District Party Congress, Quoc Oai is focusing on prioritizing resources to invest in upgrading infrastructure for communes according to the plan to finish in 2024. At the same time, assigning staff of departments in charge of criteria to closely follow the grassroots to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, ensuring the completion of the criteria according to the set roadmap.
In addition to the target of the number of communes completing the construction of advanced new rural areas, in the period of 2021 - 2025, Quoc Oai district strives to have 6 communes meeting the standards of model new rural areas. Currently, Phu Cat commune has reached the model new rural area. In 2024, the district strives to have two more communes completing the construction of model new rural areas, including Ngoc My and Sai Son.
