The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a directive on implementing solutions to ensure supply-demand balance and market stabilization at the end of 2023 and during the Lunar New Year.
Notably, in this document, the Minister of Industry and Trade requested local departments of industry and trade to direct local petroleum businesses to fully reserve and have plans to ensure petroleum supply for the market at the end of the year and during the 2024 Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, the local Department of Industry and Trade coordinates with competent authorities to strengthen supervision and inspection of sales maintenance and implementation of legal regulations on petroleum trading, quality inspection, measurement, and selling prices of petroleum circulating on the market.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requires the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group and key petroleum trading enterprises to reserve for circulation according to regulations and strictly implement the minimum total petroleum source allocated. Enterprises must have a plan to ensure a stable supply of petroleum to serve the production and consumption of people and enterprises at the end of the year and before, during and after the Lunar New Year; not to interrupt the supply of petroleum in the business system.
Along with that, in the recently issued directive, the Minister of Industry and Trade requested that Vietnam Electricity Group proactively operate and mobilize power sources in the national power system to ensure adequate power supply during Tet.
Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade of localities directs local power companies to provide adequate and stable electricity; have backup plans to supply electricity for production and people's daily life; have measures to ensure fire and explosion safety in public places, residential areas, and entertainment areas.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also directed units producing goods for Tet consumption to have appropriate plans to minimize production stoppages near Tet, causing market instability; closely monitor sales in the distribution system to prevent shortages and artificial price increases due to distributors and agents speculating on goods and raising prices.
Corporations, general companies, and companies that produce and trade essential goods, services, and goods for Tet need to proactively plan production, supply goods, and reserve materials, raw materials, and fuels reasonably to reduce costs.
