The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just announced that on March 12, the Ministry's Office and the valuation unit signed a contract to appraise the value of liquidated cars.
Up to now, the valuation unit is conducting appraisal work to determine the starting price, expected to be completed before March 20.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, after the valuation results are available, the Liquidation Council will continue to take the next steps to select a unit to conduct the online auction process and organize the online auction.
The above announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade was made right after domestic media simultaneously reported the conclusion of the Ministry of Finance Inspectorate on the use of public vehicles at this agency.
Specifically, according to the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade manages and uses 881 cars, but by December 25, 2024, the processing and arrangement had not been completed, behind schedule.
By the end of 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Office and the Electricity University are managing the use of 8 vehicles exceeding the standard and quota (the Ministry's Office exceeds 6 vehicles, the Electricity University exceeds 2 vehicles).
In response to comments from the Ministry of Finance's inspection agency, the Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that it has reviewed the entire number of cars that the Ministry's Office is managing and using.
This agency also pointed out that since November 2024, the Ministry's Office has sent official dispatches to the Departments of Planning - Finance (now Planning - Finance and Enterprise Management); Science and Technology, Legal Affairs and the Ministry's Inspectorate to send civil servants to participate in the Automobile Liquidation Council managed by the Ministry's Office.
On February 3, 2025, the Liquidation Council met to agree on a plan to select a valuation unit and post an invitation to provide valuation services on the Ministry's electronic information portal for qualified units to submit their applications, as a basis for the Ministry's Office to select the implementing unit.
The invitation to provide valuation services was issued on February 6, 2025. By the deadline for submitting documents at 4:00 p.m. on March 14, 3 units had submitted documents to the Ministry Office, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
After the units' dossiers were sent to the members of the Liquidation Council for evaluation and unified ranking, as a basis for submission to the leaders, the Ministry's Office issued Decision No. 292 dated March 11, 2025 to select the unit to perform the valuation service and proceed to sign the implementation contract.
