On the afternoon of March 18, working with a delegation of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) and nearly 60 large US enterprises visiting and working in Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam wishes and strives to promote balanced, harmonious and sustainable economic and trade relations with the US.
Promoting Vietnam - US economic cooperation
Welcoming the USABC delegation and US businesses to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and two years of upgrading relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the visit in promoting bilateral cooperation.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US a leading important and strategic partner, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment .
The Prime Minister said that the Vietnam-US bilateral relationship has made remarkable progress in recent times. However, there is still much room for US investment in Vietnam to expand.
Therefore, the Prime Minister hopes that US investors will continue to increase new investments and expand operations in Vietnam, especially in important areas such as energy, high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), aviation, aerospace and climate change response...
USABC leaders and American businesses expressed their joy at the progress in Vietnam-US relations. They highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements, great development potential, and investment and business environment.
In particular, the US business community acknowledged the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government and the Prime Minister personally in always paying attention, creating conditions, supporting, listening, and removing difficulties for businesses, so that US businesses can invest and develop effectively in Vietnam.

American businesses also highly appreciate Vietnam's socio-economic development strategy, especially in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, especially when Resolution 57-NQ/TW was just issued.
The US business community expressed its desire and commitment to invest and expand investment in Vietnam in the fields of green transformation, digital transformation, and circular economy. Industries of interest include energy, high technology, semiconductors, AI, finance, telecommunications, healthcare, food processing, etc.
After discussing and answering specific proposals and recommendations from USABC and US businesses with leaders of Vietnamese ministries and sectors, the Prime Minister respectfully thanked the US leaders and businesses for their contributions.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the specific proposals and recommendations of USABC enterprises have been received and responded to. The Prime Minister expressed his belief that investment cooperation between Vietnam and the US will have new developments in all fields, especially those with new driving forces, in line with the development trends and strategies of each country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam desires and is promoting balanced, harmonious and sustainable development of bilateral economic and trade relations through specific action programs.
To realize this goal, the Prime Minister has organized meetings with American businesses to listen to opinions from the business community.
Along with that, the Vietnamese Government also reviewed issues that need to promote Vietnam's economic - trade - investment relations, and directed ministries and branches to promptly, urgently, resolutely and completely resolve the problems that American businesses are concerned about.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to accompany US businesses, contributing to concretizing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, in the spirit of "harmonious benefits and shared risks".
The Prime Minister hopes that US businesses will continue to invest and expand operations in Vietnam; promote connections between the two countries' business communities, promote regular dialogue mechanisms between the Government and the business community, as well as regular business connections.
Vietnam is ready to create conditions for domestic enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain of US enterprises, making Vietnam a US production and business base in Southeast Asia.
The spirit of cooperation emphasized by the Prime Minister is: "If we say something, we must do it. If we commit, we must carry it out. If we carry it out, we must have measurable results."
In addition, the Prime Minister asked US businesses to continue providing policy advice to help Vietnam perfect its institutions and policies.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that US businesses have a voice with the Trump administration to strengthen cooperation to promote sustainable economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.
Vietnam hopes that the US will not use trade defense measures against Vietnamese exports or take actions that affect the very good relationship between the two countries.
At the same time, the Prime Minister proposed that the US soon recognize Vietnam's market economy status and remove Vietnam from the US Department of Commerce's list of high-tech export restrictions.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of science-technology and innovation cooperation; proposed that the two countries increase high-quality investment, promote the transfer of advanced technology and support human resource training for Vietnam.
In addition, Vietnam hopes that the US will share experiences, recommend policies and support Vietnam in energy development, and consider and participate in Vietnam's railway, aviation, waterway, sea and road projects, with appropriate roles.

In addition to the transport sector, Vietnam wishes to cooperate with the US in building and developing a synchronous and modern digital infrastructure, commercializing the 5G network and researching 6G technology; prioritizing investment in the agricultural sector.
At the same time, Vietnam hopes that US businesses will support Vietnamese businesses and people in connecting production facilities with consumer markets, and deeply participating in supply and retail chains in the US and around the world.
The Prime Minister affirmed that there is still a lot of room for economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the US. The Prime Minister hopes that after the visit of USABC and US businesses this time, the connection between businesses of the two countries will be strengthened and become more effective, for the benefit of both sides.
Thereby, the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will become increasingly stronger, more effective and develop better in the coming time.
