Currently, the facade of the building at 131-133 Dong Khoi (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) only has a blue background layer remaining, replacing the previous red sign. This location is said to be where Chagee's first store in Vietnam opened.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online, a resident living near the area said that the removal of the sign outside the construction took place on the evening of March 17. The advertising decals were also completely removed.

According to the notice posted at the construction site, Bong Sen Joint Stock Company said that the area at this location has an area of 198.9 square meters and is under repair and renovation from March 3 to April 25, 2025.

Chagee Vietnam is being called for a boycott because its mobile application displays a map suspected of containing the "cow tongue line", violating Vietnam's sovereignty.

When the above incident occurred, a representative of the People's Committee of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City said that they had received information related to the Chagee milk tea brand and requested the People's Committee of Ben Nghe Ward to verify and report the incident.

All posts on the Chagee Vietnam fanpage from June 2024 to present have been met with outrage from the online community. This page has now disabled comments.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Pham Duy Khuong, executive director of ASL LAW - said that whether Chagee can continue to do business in Vietnam or not will depend on whether the legal entity in Vietnam has violated the law or not.

According to Mr. Khuong, if the parent company commits acts that are considered to violate Vietnamese law, the possibility of applying legal measures to restrict the business activities of the subsidiary in Vietnam will be difficult, or even impossible.

Therefore, he believes that in this case, media pressure and a wave of boycott from consumers would be more effective and appropriate measures.
