Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh works with the Department of Science and Technology

On the afternoon of March 18, 2025, comrade Nguyen Doan Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and the working delegation had a working session with the Department of Science and Technology. Also attending the meeting were comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dao Xuan Yen, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mai Xuan Liem, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

According to the report, the Department of Science and Technology was established on March 1, 2025, on the basis of merging the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications. After the arrangement, the department currently has 8 specialized and professional departments and 2 public service units, reducing 5 units compared to before. The results of state management and implementation of science, technology and digital transformation activities in the first quarter of 2025 have had positive changes, contributing significantly to the overall development of the province.

The Department of Science and Technology has performed well the function of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation; coordinated with relevant sectors and units to advise on the development of the Action Program of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee to implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo. Scientific research and technology development activities continue to be promoted; focusing on research, application, and transfer of technical advances in the fields of industry, agriculture, medicine, tourism, and digital transformation. Continue to strengthen state management of technology, intellectual property; quality measurement standards; ensure nuclear radiation safety in the province; focus on implementing digital transformation tasks, especially building digital government.

Speaking at the working session with officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Doan Anh highly appreciated the Department of Science and Technology for quickly stabilizing the organization on the basis of merging the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications.

He emphasized that in the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology needs to focus on better implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation. The Department of Science and Technology must be one step ahead in developing plans for technical infrastructure, preparing human resources and funding to be ready to deploy information technology applications, build e-government, serve the activities of Party committees and authorities of newly established communes and wards according to the Central's policy on merging communes and abolishing district levels; ensure smoothness, efficiency, and no interruption in the implementation of tasks, especially the provision of public services to people and businesses.

As the Standing Agency of the Provincial Steering Committee on Breakthrough Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation; he requested the unit to advise the Steering Committee on developing a work plan for 2025 with practical and effective contents and tasks. Selecting key and central contents and allocating sufficient resources for implementation. In particular, focusing on implementing tasks to complete infrastructure serving science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the locality, creating a foundation for research activities and technology application.

Continue to promote research, application and transfer of scientific and technological advances into practice, especially in key areas, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's GRDP growth target of 11% or more in 2025. Advise on the effective implementation of digital transformation goals and tasks according to Resolution No. 06 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Plan of the Provincial People's Committee, determined to complete the goal of Thanh Hoa in the group of 10 leading provinces and cities nationwide in digital transformation in 2025. In particular, focus on building a Provincial Data Center to practically serve the leadership, direction and operation of Party committees, authorities and production and business activities in the province.
