On June 9, Tra On District Police (Vinh Long) said that the unit had just issued a decision to administratively sanction violations in the field of security, order and social safety against Ms. NKN (27 years old, residing in Zone 1, Tra On Town, Tra On District) with a fine of 5 million VND for the act of threatening, insulting, and offending the honor and dignity of people performing official duties, as prescribed in Point b, Clause 2, Article 21 of Decree 144, dated December 31, 2021.

Previously, on May 29, while the Tra On District Police force was on patrol, controlling traffic, and handling alcohol violations in the inner city of Tra On, Ms. N. came to ask the patrol team to let her get her motorbike out early, because she had previously lent it to a relative and the vehicle was temporarily impounded due to the driver violating alcohol concentration. At this time, Ms. N. was also drinking alcohol.
After the patrol team explained and did not comply with the request, Ms. N. insulted the traffic police on duty. Ms. N. also recorded a clip and posted it on Facebook. After realizing that what she did was wrong, Ms. N. removed the clip and the post. When the police discovered the incident, they invited Ms. N. to come in for questioning according to regulations.
Through the incident, the authorities recommend that social network participants should be alert, distinguish right from wrong, clearly identify the content of the incident before posting, and avoid violating the law. When discovering unverified information, fabricated content that insults the honor and dignity of organizations and individuals, do not share or comment negatively.
