In his opening speech, Colonel Do Quang Tham, Political Commissar of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard, emphasized: "This Provincial Border Guard Emulation Congress is an important political activity with profound significance to summarize and evaluate the results of emulation, reward and the movement of self-defense, commend, reward and honor the most outstanding examples in the movement of self-defense, period 2019 - 2024, at the same time, set out directions, goals, tasks and solutions to continue to innovate, improve the quality and effectiveness of emulation, reward and the movement of self-defense in the period 2024 - 2029".
The report at the Congress said: Promoting the tradition of patriotic emulation, the emulation and reward work and the emulation movement in the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard in the past time have been organized and implemented synchronously, comprehensively, extensively, creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere in the whole unit.
The Border Defense Movement has contributed to enhancing the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, promoting democracy, striving, overcoming all difficulties, creating an important driving force to excellently complete the task of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security, building strong border areas, building comprehensively strong units "Exemplary, typical", and a clean and strong Party organization.
In addition to efforts to maintain border security, the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard also organizes many activities and programs to help improve the lives of people in border areas. Specifically, the unit has coordinated to build 18 civil works in border communes worth more than 4 billion VND; coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial Women's Union to donate 40 breeding cows worth 433 million VND; supported the construction of 1 comrade house worth 80 million VND; 6 border shelters worth 340 million VND; 14 Great Solidarity houses worth 910 million VND; 1 military-civilian clinic in Ia Lop commune (Ea Sup district) worth 700 million VND.
Dak Lak Border Guard mobilized officers and soldiers of the provincial Border Guard to support 2,694 national flags worth more than 134 million VND to give to fishermen going out to sea. Organized many programs to help people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, contributing to building a strong border area of Dak Lak province. At the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers", the unit wrapped more than 14,000 banh chung; mobilized businesses and philanthropists to give gifts to poor households and policy families in the border area with a total value of more than 2.5 billion VND. In the program "Helping children go to school", Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard supported 40 children, with a support level of 500 thousand VND/child/month; supported 4 children in the program "Adopted children of Border Guard Station"; 325 children in the Project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school, phase 2021 - 2030" with a support level of 7.4 million VND/child/year.
At the Congress, delegates listened to presentations and reports on typical advanced practices of collectives and individuals with good and creative ways of doing things, bringing high efficiency in the emulation movement for agencies and units to apply in practice.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee commended and praised typical advanced collectives and individuals, and emulation soldiers who have made many contributions to the International Youth Movement of the Provincial Border Guard over the past 5 years.
According to Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung: This is also a meaningful result to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army; towards celebrating the 120th anniversary of the founding of Dak Lak province, the 50th anniversary of the Provincial Border Guard's Traditional Day and important political events of the country and the province in the coming time.
Speaking at the Congress, Major General Nguyen Duc Manh, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, emphasized: Dak Lak Border Guard is one of the leading units in implementing the emulation movement of the force and the locality, where many movements, models, and creative ways of doing things have been deployed for the Border Guard Command to replicate in provinces and cities across the country. With those results and achievements, Dak Lak Border Guard was awarded 2 Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; the Ministry of National Defense awarded an emulation flag; the General Department of Politics awarded a Certificate of Merit, the Provincial People's Committee and the Border Guard Command awarded emulation flags and many other noble awards.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals of the Provincial Border Guard Command for their outstanding achievements in performing political tasks, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, period 2019 - 2024. The Border Guard Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 1 individual of the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard for their excellent performance in the emulation movement "Determined to Win", period 2019 - 2024. The Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 17 individuals of the Provincial Border Guard for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Determined to Win", period 2019 - 2024.
