At around 4:00 a.m. on October 17, the Coast Guard Region 4 inspected fishing vessel CM 08710 - TS, captained by Mr. TVS, 37 years old, residing in Tan An commune, Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau, and discovered that the vessel was transporting 9 tracking devices from other fishing vessels. At the time of inspection, the captain presented all documents related to the fishing vessel and the captain's certificate. However, transporting tracking devices from other fishing vessels without permission is a violation of the law. Therefore, the Coast Guard Region 4 made a record and brought the vessel and the captain to the port of Squadron 421, Nam Can town, Nam Can district for further investigation and handling.
According to initial verification results, fishing boat CM 08710 - TS is owned by Mr. D.D.N, 53 years old, residing in Rach Goc town, Ngoc Hien district. This boat was leased by Mr. N. to Mr. TVS (for a period of 3 months) under a handwritten contract from September 6, 2024. According to Mr. N., the purpose of leasing the boat was for Mr. S. to practice crab fishing and he did not know that this boat was transporting tracking devices of other fishing boats. Currently, the authorities of Ngoc Hien district are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law.
