Overview of the press conference introducing the Petfair 2024 exhibition

In Vietnam, according to Dr. Le Quang Thong - Head of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, the increasing number of pet owners shows that the potential of the pet care technology, products and services industry is still very large. In the period 2016-2021, the number of pets in Vietnam increased from 21 million to 27 million. For dogs and cats alone, there are currently about 11.8 million. It is expected that by 2027, this number will increase to 16 million. The rapid increase in the number of pet owners has led to the rapid development of the veterinary medicine market. In the past 5 years, the veterinary medicine market has always grown at double-digit rates. Notably, in 2022, the growth rate reached 38%.

In that context, the organization of an international exhibition specializing in pet care technology, products and services in Vietnam (Petfair Vietnam 2024) is expected to be a bridge to help businesses connect, find partners, and develop the pet industry in Vietnam. The exhibition is expected to take place from March 27 to 29, 2024 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh, Chairman of VEAS, said that the Petfair Vietnam 2024 exhibition is expected to attract more than 6,000 trade visitors, more than 200 exhibitors from 12 countries and territories, notably booths from countries such as: Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Germany, the United States (updated to the present time).

At Petfair Vietnam 2024, exhibitors will introduce thousands of products and services related to pets, from food, toys, fashion to medical services and pet care. In addition, there are raw materials, supplies, machinery, and technology for producing pet products.

In addition, the exhibition will also include specialized seminars, courses, pet shows, pet care competitions and other outstanding activities. In particular, exhibiting businesses can also seek to expand their dealer channels, promote their image and position their brands through Petfair Vietnam's social media channels.

“The exhibition is expected to become a bridge for trade, business expansion and building long-term cooperative relationships for many Vietnamese enterprises with international businesses operating in the field of products, technology and pet care services. Thereby promoting the development of the pet industry in Vietnam,” Mr. Nguyen Ba Vinh expected.
