At the meeting, comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed that the fire at the mini apartment building in Khuong Dinh was a very heartbreaking incident.
Appreciating the efforts of Hanoi city as well as local authorities in overcoming the incident and supporting the people, he affirmed that since 1954, there has never been a fire with such serious consequences. He emphasized that the most important thing to do now is to come up with solutions, improve the quality of inspection and examination work, and thoroughly handle violations to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Regarding information work, he said that as soon as the incident occurred, as the largest press agency of the Party and State, Nhan Dan Newspaper reported the news very early; at the same time, it deployed many articles reflecting the incident comprehensively and objectively. This official and accurate information was well received by the public.
In addition, in the spirit of sharing difficulties, based on social mobilization as well as contributions from the newspaper's staff, Nhan Dan Newspaper has donated 500 million VND to support the victims of the fire.
"With the spirit of party journalists, through the Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front, we wish to share with the victims in Khuong Ha," comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
Also at the meeting, through Nhan Dan Newspaper, Kenh28 Entertainment Joint Stock Company supported the victims of the fire with 1 billion VND. This is the amount of money mobilized by the Company through the community's cooperation.
Previously, as reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, the fire in a 9-storey, 1-attic mini apartment building occurred at 11:22 p.m. on September 12, in lane 29/70, Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi city, causing extremely serious consequences, killing and injuring many people.
As of the evening of September 13, authorities had identified 56 dead and 37 injured. Of these, 39 of the 56 dead have been identified.
