According to plan, the project to expand Nguyen Tuan Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) with a length of 720m and an investment of nearly 400 billion VND will be completed in September 2025.
A representative of the Thanh Xuan District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that, up to now, many trees on the route have been relocated and cut down by the authorities. The Project Management Board is also coordinating with relevant units to relocate power lines and telecommunication cables.
Nguyen Tuan Street will be completed in September 2025.
According to the Project Management Board, the main work currently being carried out by the contractor at the construction site is the construction of a wastewater drainage system. The location being carried out is in front of the Institute of Ceramics and Industrial Glass (Ministry of Industry and Trade).
According to this person, up to now, there is still a 2-storey apartment building (next to Son La Guest House) that has not yet had its compensation plan approved.
"From now until the time of construction of the drainage system to that location, the Project Management Board will coordinate with relevant parties to complete site clearance to hand over to the construction contractor. The project is expected to complete the expansion in September 2025," said the leader of the Thanh Xuan District Investment and Construction Project Management Board.
According to Giao Thong Newspaper's reporter, machinery and personnel are being mobilized by the contractor to implement some items of the project.
The road section next to the intersection with Nguyen Huy Tuong Street is being fenced with corrugated iron for construction. According to the reporter's observation, this area is currently gathering 3 excavators and many construction materials.
"Nguyen Tuan Street has always been congested, and the situation has become even more serious as part of the street has been blocked off. We hope the project will be completed on time to resolve the traffic congestion on the street that has been going on for many years," said Nguyen Thuy, a resident of the street.
Nguyen Tuan is an important route in Thanh Xuan district, with a large volume of people and vehicles, which requires the contractor to both construct and ensure traffic.
After being expanded, Nguyen Tuan Street will help reduce traffic congestion in the area, beautify the urban area, and contribute to the socio-economic development of Hanoi in general and Thanh Xuan district in particular.
Nguyen Tuan Street is about 1.1km long, starting from Nguyen Trai Street to Le Van Luong Street, intersecting with Nguyen Huy Tuong Street. According to the latest land price list issued by the Hanoi People's Committee, the section from the beginning of the street to the end of Nguyen Tuan Street costs up to nearly 105 million VND/m2. The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street was approved by the Thanh Xuan District People's Committee in 2018, with a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND.
The project is 720m long, starting at the intersection with Nguyen Trai Street, ending at alley 162 Nguyen Tuan, with a cross-section expanded to 21m, including a 15m wide roadway and 2 sidewalks each 3m wide.
To implement the project of renovating and expanding Nguyen Tuan Street, Thanh Xuan District will reclaim and clear 14,334 square meters of land from 11 organizations and 160 households and individuals. However, the project of expanding Nguyen Tuan Street cannot be implemented according to the original plan because many households do not agree to hand over the land.
After many times of propaganda and mobilization of the people, the site clearance for the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project was basically completed in November 2024. After having the site, the leaders of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee directed the Construction Investment Project Management Board and the contractor to carry out the steps to construct the project.
