Hoa Thuan Hamlet - A bright spot in building a model new rural area

Hoa Thuan Hamlet, one of 06 hamlets of Hoa Ninh Commune, Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province, has made a strong transformation after one year of implementing the construction of a model new rural hamlet. With the close direction of the Party Committee, the Commune People's Committee and the consensus of the people, up to now, Hoa Thuan Hamlet has successfully completed 11/11 criteria for building a model new rural hamlet. This achievement not only contributes to improving people's lives, but also creates a driving force for sustainable development for the locality.

Synchronous planning, sustainable development

Today, when arriving at Hoa Thuan hamlet, we can easily feel the obvious change of the countryside here. The muddy roads on rainy days are now only in memory, giving way to inter-commune asphalt roads and smooth concrete roads connecting hamlets. The shaky monkey bridges of the past have also been replaced by sturdy, spacious concrete bridges. Thanks to that, people's travel has become more convenient than ever, whether it is transporting goods or serving the travel needs of people and students, it is safe and easy in both rainy and sunny seasons.

Mr. Le Van Hoang, Secretary of Hoa Thuan Hamlet Party Cell, shared that when the Steering Committee of Hoa Ninh Commune selected Hoa Thuan Hamlet to build the commune's third model new-style rural hamlet, he was both happy and worried. The joy comes from the attention and trust of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune, along with favorable conditions that will help the hamlet have the opportunity to make a breakthrough in the process of implementing the National Target Program on New-style Rural Construction. This is also an opportunity for the locality to attract investment resources to upgrade infrastructure, improve ineffective gardens, and transform the structure of crops and livestock towards applying science and technology, contributing to increasing income and improving household economy.

However, he is also worried because the time to implement the construction of the model NTM hamlet is quite short, while the rural transportation system is still not synchronized. Mobilizing people to participate in road construction, lighting installation, and security camera installation is facing many difficulties. Besides, the rate of people participating in voluntary health insurance is still low. However, with the determination of the Party Committee, the Hamlet Mobilization Committee, and the close coordination of socio-political organizations and the consensus of the people, Hoa Thuan hamlet has achieved and exceeded many important targets in the process of building a model NTM hamlet.

One of the highlights of this process is the cooperation of the people and the Hamlet Mobilization Committee to install lighting systems along both sides of the inter-hamlet roads. As a result, 100% of the roads were lit, exceeding the regulation by 10%, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and maintaining security and order in the area. In addition, the rate of people participating in voluntary health insurance reached over 95%, exceeding the requirement, while the rate of households using hygienic and clean water reached nearly 98%, 12.7% higher than the target. In addition, over 75.3% of households classified waste according to regulations, exceeding the set target by 0.35%.

Hoa Thuan Hamlet also has a special highlight, the Cultural House - Inter-hamlet Sports Area located next to Hoa Ninh communal house. This project is not only a place for people to visit and worship the Thanh Hoang God and the ancestors who have contributed to the development and construction of the prosperous land as it is today, but also a space for community cultural activities, creating a healthy playground for people after hard working hours. According to statistics, last year the Cultural House - Inter-hamlet Sports Area of ​​Hoa Thuan Hamlet attracted 54% of the people to come to participate in activities, exceeding the target by 4%.

Since then, we have actively responded and participated with the local government, such as contributing to the construction of rural traffic, lighting, security cameras, and "bright, green, clean and beautiful" roads by donating land, crops and working days. As a resident of the hamlet, I am very honored and proud of the results that the hamlet has achieved today."

Production development, strong political system

Under the direction of the Party Committee, the People's Committee of Hoa Ninh commune and the support of specialized sectors, Hoa Thuan hamlet has made a strong transformation in agricultural development. With nearly 500 households and more than 2,230 people, people's lives are mainly associated with agricultural production. Implementing the Agricultural Restructuring Plan of Vinh Long province for the period 2021-2025, the hamlet has promoted propaganda and mobilized people to convert crops and livestock in a more efficient direction, replacing low-yield varieties with high-quality specialized crops, combining the application of science and technology in production.

Thanks to those efforts, the agriculture of Hoa Thuan hamlet has improved a lot. Productivity and quality of agricultural products have been constantly improved. Notably, 382/499 agricultural households have applied science and technology or produced in an organic direction, accounting for 76.55%, exceeding the set target. The rate of trained workers reached nearly 79%, 3.9% higher than the plan. In particular, the average income per capita reached 80.53 million VND/year, contributing to improving people's lives and reducing the rate of poor households. Thanks to the prosperous economy, many households have built spacious houses, meeting the "3 hard" standards according to the regulations of the Ministry of Construction with a rate of over 99.5%.

Not only economic development, the cultural and social life of the hamlet also has many positive changes. Thanks to the attention and leadership of the Hoa Ninh Commune Party Committee, the hamlet's socio-political organizations operate effectively, contributing to maintaining the title of "Cultural Hamlet" for 5 consecutive years. The hamlet Party cell is assessed to have excellently completed its tasks, the residential area ensures the criteria of "Safety in security and order". People are united, comply with general regulations, actively contribute to local movements, mobilize people's strength on time and according to the set plan.

Rural roads are paved with asphalt and flowers are planted on both sides of the road to create a bright, green, clean and beautiful environment.

With outstanding achievements in economic development and socio-cultural life, Hoa Thuan hamlet is gradually affirming its position as one of the bright spots of Hoa Ninh commune on the journey of developing new rural areas. Focus on developing production, promoting restructuring of the agricultural sector in association with developing services and small-scale industries; promoting cooperation, association, application of scientific and technological advances, improving productivity, quality, efficiency and product value with the aim of increasing people's income. Regularly launch environmental sanitation movements. Promote the movement of planting trees and flowers along roadsides to create a bright, green, clean and beautiful landscape. Focus on improving the quality of 11 criteria for building model new-style rural hamlets. Promote vocational training for rural workers, pay attention to timely support for policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and disadvantaged households to escape poverty sustainably.
