On the afternoon of March 6, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a meeting of the City's Muslim Community Representative Board, the Representative Boards of Mosques, Minor Mosques, and Muslim areas on the occasion of Ramadan, Islamic calendar 1445 - Gregorian calendar 2024.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, acknowledged the efforts to improve the material and spiritual life of the city's Muslim community, especially the disadvantaged households that have made efforts to rise up.
Mr. Pham Minh Tuan believes that the dignitaries, officials of the Islamic Community Representative Board, the Management Board of Mosques and Minor Mosques, and Muslim compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to unite and accompany the people of the City to participate in patriotic emulation movements. Especially in carrying out the task of developing Ho Chi Minh City in the spirit of Resolution 31 of the Politburo and Resolution 98 of the National Assembly, helping the City soon complete the goal of becoming a civilized, modern, humane, dynamic and creative city.

Vice Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee Pham Minh Tuan said: "In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City is determined to implement digital transformation and Resolution 98. We hope that with the guidance of the Representative Board, the Management Board, the Muslim community in the city will continue to unite to overcome difficulties, actively participate in movements and campaigns, unite with people and religions to build the locality, build an increasingly clean and developed community."
On behalf of the dignitaries, officials and Muslim compatriots, Mr. Mohamed Amine, Secretary of the Representative Board of the Muslim Community of Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his appreciation for the sentiments and concern of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the City Fatherland Front Committee towards the Muslim compatriots in the area, always caring to help and create conditions for families to improve their lives, build prosperous and happy families. The Muslim community continues to respond to movements and campaigns launched by the government and the Fatherland Front at all levels, build cultural families, join hands to build the great national unity bloc.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 5, the Management Board of Jamiun Aman Mosque (Khanh My Hamlet, Khanh Hoa Commune, Chau Phu District, An Giang Province) held a ceremony to welcome Ramadan 2024.

On this occasion, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Chau Phu district and Khanh Hoa commune presented gifts and wished the Management Board of Jamiun Aman Mosque and the Cham ethnic minority people a meaningful Ramadan.
Ramadan is an important holiday for the Cham people who follow Islam. During Ramadan, all Muslims will abstain from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset. This year, the Muslim community in Ho Chi Minh City will fast the month of Ramadan (Islamic calendar 1445 - Gregorian calendar 2024) from March 11 to April 10, 2024.
