At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, expressed his joy at the achievements that the Brazilian people have made in recent times. He emphasized that the Vietnam-Brazil strategic partnership is developing well.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor introduced to the Brazilian delegation about the Vietnam Trade Union organization, activities to protect the rights of union members and workers, and action programs to implement the Resolution of the Vietnam Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term.
He affirmed that the Vietnam Trade Union always focuses on promoting international cooperation to learn from experiences, including relations with Brazilian Trade Union Centers, to match the strategic partnership between the two countries. He believes that the Brazilian Trade Union Centers will play a bridging role, contributing to strengthening the friendly and cooperative relations between the Vietnam Trade Union and trade unions of South American countries.

Regarding the direction of cooperation, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang proposed that the two sides increase the updating of the operational situation through direct and online delegation exchanges, and organize practical activities to strengthen the relationship. At the same time, the two sides need to continue to maintain the connection and support each other at international forums through delegation exchanges, participation in international conferences and events.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Sérgio Nobre, President of the Central Union of United Workers (CUT) of Brazil, expressed his gratitude for the reception of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. He said that CUT, established in 1983, represents about 26 million Brazilian workers and always strives to connect with trade unions around the world. He hopes that the cooperative relationship between the two organizations will become increasingly strong, aiming to protect workers' rights and build a stable and safe working environment.
At the meeting, in addition to cooperation proposals, the two sides also focused on exchanging and sharing experiences in collective bargaining, developing union members, and training union officials, in order to improve the effectiveness of representing workers. The two sides agreed to cooperate in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members, improving working conditions, and promoting sustainable employment.
The two organizations also pledged to continue strengthening international cooperation and maintaining close relations at multilateral forums, contributing to promoting harmonious labor relations and sustainable development.
