(kontumtv.vn) – Promoting the spirit of volunteerism, in recent times, the youth union members of Dak Ha district have actively coordinated with all levels of government and the community to support many disadvantaged people in building solid houses. From solid homes, creating conditions for disadvantaged families to stabilize their lives and escape poverty.
Since having a solid house, Mr. A Hinh and his wife in Kon Brong village, Ngok Wang commune have welcomed their disabled father to live with them for convenient care and support. After getting married, he and his wife always tried to make a living but still could not escape poverty. The dream of building a house had to be left unfinished many times due to life events. In 2022, with the support capital and encouragement of Dak Ha District Youth Union, he boldly borrowed more money from the district's Social Policy Bank to build a solid house with an area of over 75 square meters. Mr. A Hinh shared: " When I got married, I encountered many difficulties, but with the encouragement, spiritual encouragement, and support for settling down, and support for loans from the Youth Union, I was able to build a house. Now the family is doing okay, and the economy is better than a few years ago."
No longer worried about food and accommodation, with the support of the local government, the couple focused on economic development with a model of breeding cows combined with planting and caring for coffee trees. With determination, diligence and hard work, up to now, the family has 6 breeding cows and 0.5 hectares of coffee.
Also supported to build a house like Mr. A Hinh and his wife, Mr. A Nhak in village 5, Dak La commune has a more stable life than before. Before, because he did not have a house, he did not dare to work far away because he was worried about his wife and children at home. With a new, solid house, he can go to work with peace of mind to earn more income to cover his daily life. Mr. A Nhak said: “Before building a house, every time it rained, the clothes, rice and salt in the house would be soaked by the rain. Since my uncle and aunt supported me with a house, I feel more secure. With a house, my husband can work far away with peace of mind so that his wife can stay home to eat, study and work, and he does not have to worry about working far away like before.”
With many flexible solutions, combining action programs and activities of the Youth Union such as "Youth Month", "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign", "Winter Volunteer", "Spring Volunteer" ... the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has promoted the youth's strength, effectively mobilizing the community's cooperation in building and repairing houses for poor households. In addition to mobilizing funds, youth union members also directly participate in working days, contributing to reducing construction costs for households. Mr. Ha Quoc Manh - Secretary of Dak Ha District Youth Union, said: " When participating in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district, it educates union members, youth, team members, and students about the spirit of helping each other, the spirit of solidarity of the Vietnamese people. Secondly, it contributes to the construction of new rural areas in the locality. As soon as this program was launched, with the spirit of mutual love, solidarity of the students, team members, and youth in the district, it was implemented very smoothly, receiving enthusiastic response and consensus from all union members and team members in the district."
From 2022 to present, Dak Ha District Youth Union has mobilized organizations, individuals and businesses to build 15 houses with a total value of more than 600 million VND. The houses built from sharing and solidarity not only help poor households have solid housing but also promote the spirit of vanguard and responsibility of young people towards the community./.
