The Debt Management and Asset Exploitation Company of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) has just announced the auction of customer debts at Agribank Ho Chi Minh City branch.
Specifically, Agribank wants to auction all of Ms. Doan Thi Ngan's debt with a provisional book value as of July 13, 2023 of 2,149.11 SJC gold taels, equivalent to VND 14.3 billion (according to the gold price on July 13, it was VND 6.66 million/tael).
The collateral related to the above debt is the house and land located at 17/1, Street 62, Thao Dien Ward, District 2 (now Thu Duc City), Ho Chi Minh City according to the Certificate of House Ownership and Land Use Rights No. 70103030243, original file No. 957/2003 issued by the People's Committee of District 2 on July 8, 2003.
The starting price for the auction of the above debt is 10.05 billion VND, a decrease of about 800 million VND compared to the most recent auction of 10.826 billion VND. Previously, in July, Agribank also auctioned the above debt with a starting price of 14.3 billion VND, 4 billion VND higher than the current price.
Bidders will need to deposit 1 billion VND in advance, equivalent to 10% of the starting price of the debt. The payment period is from November 28 to November 30. The price step is 50 million VND.
The auction is expected to be held at 9:00 a.m. on December 1 at Van Thanh An Auction Company located at 3 Ly Van Phuc, Tan Dinh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Agribank, the above gold debt is a loan of Ms. Doan Thi Ngan at Agribank Ho Chi Minh City Branch under two credit contracts No. T0VS2.TD.4004 dated September 22, 2004 and No. T0VS2.TD.5002 dated April 7, 2005 between the Gold and Gemstone Company of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City (merged into Agribank) and Ms. Doan Thi Ngan.
Agribank Gold and Gemstone Company (now ASEAN Gold and Gemstone Joint Stock Company) was formerly the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Gold and Gemstone Handicraft Trading Company, established in 1994. In 2008, the company was equitized and operated as a joint stock company.
In 2017, Agribank transferred all 12.6 million shares it owned, equivalent to 61.24% of charter capital at AJC to 3 investors including Thung Lung Vua Company Limited (18.16% of charter capital), Hong Ngoc Construction and Investment Services Trading Company Limited (23.06%) and Phu Thinh Production Trading Company Limited (24.78%).
Agribank once issued a document confirming that it was no longer related to AJC, and requested that the company not use the trade name and trademark "Agribank" in its own name .
