Despite the cold and rainy weather, tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the country have made a pilgrimage to Hung Temple (Phu Tho) to burn incense.

Although there is still nearly a week left until the official Hung King's death anniversary in 2025 (March 10th of the lunar calendar), today (March 30, or March 2nd of the lunar calendar), many people flocked to the Hung Temple National Historical Site on the top of Nghia Linh Mountain.
According to VietNamNet reporters, from 8am, people started moving through the ceremony yard and slowly moved through the Hung Temple gate area to make a pilgrimage to the Upper Temple.
Due to overcrowding and local congestion, police have deployed forces at many locations and set up soft fences to ensure safety for tourists and security and order.
By 9am, the main parking lots of the Hung Temple Historical Site were full and could not accept any more vehicles.
Mr. Tran Hoang Quy (32 years old, residing in Viet Tri City) said that every year on the weekend before the main festival day, his family goes to burn incense at Thuong Temple.
According to Mr. Quy, at around 8am, his family arrived at the temple gate and saw thousands of people waiting to move slowly through the temple gate. At 9:30am, his family arrived and burned incense at the Upper Temple.
Speaking with VietNamNet, Ms. Pham Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy Director of Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, said that yesterday (March 29), about 15,000 tourists visited Hung Temple.
According to Ms. Oanh, the assigned functional forces have coordinated well to carry out their tasks, and up to now, security and order have been ensured.
" Today, Sunday, the number of visitors is expected to be three times higher than yesterday, up to nearly 50,000 people. Since early this morning, the authorities have been diverting traffic, deploying forces at many locations, and setting up soft fences to ensure the safe movement of people to the temples to burn incense ," said Ms. Oanh.
To ensure security and order for the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in 2025, Phu Tho Provincial Police have developed a plan and mobilized nearly 1,000 officers and soldiers to participate.
Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the 2025 Culture - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land will take place from March 29 to April 7 (ie from the 1st to the 10th of the 3rd lunar month) in Viet Tri City with many events and activities.
