TPO - A series of accidents involving 3 cars on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway caused traffic congestion, 2 people were slightly injured.
Previously, at around 3:30 p.m. the same day, a truck with license plate 63C-072.90 driven by Vo Duy Thanh (32 years old, from Dong Thap) was running on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong highway.
When reaching the area of Thanh Phu commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province, it crashed into the back of a 7-seat car with license plate 51A-145.58 driven by Tran Xuan Thien (39 years old, residing in Can Tho province) running in front.
The strong collision caused the 7-seat car to crash into the back of the tanker truck with license plate 50F-025.54, driven by Tran Thanh Danh (49 years old, residing in Dong Thap province) traveling in the same direction ahead.
The series of accidents caused two people in the 7-seat car to be slightly injured: driver Tran Xuan Thien and Pham Hong Nhat (73 years old, from Hai Duong).
At the scene, the 7-seat car was severely damaged, the front and rear of the car were crushed, and many pieces of debris were scattered on the road.
Upon receiving the news, the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway Traffic Police Team arrived at the scene, coordinated with relevant agencies, regulated traffic, and collected information to serve the investigation of the cause.
After the collision, the vehicles were in the lane next to the median strip, while the slow-moving vehicles crossed the middle lane and the emergency lane, causing local traffic congestion. Meanwhile, the vehicles on the highway moved down Highway 62 to Highway 1, causing traffic congestion there as well.
At 5:30 p.m. on March 7, traffic on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway from the West to Ho Chi Minh City returned to normal.
