On October 30, the US and South Korea began large-scale military exercises involving 130 fighter jets from both countries to simulate wartime operations lasting 24 hours.
According to CNA, the South Korean Air Force said the annual exercise called Vigilant Defense will last until November 3, with the participation of both US and South Korean versions of the F-35 stealth fighter, along with other South Korean aircraft.
The exercise aims to improve interoperability between the two militaries through conducting major airborne missions such as air-to-ground live-fire drills, air counterattacks and other emergency training.
