After more than 14 days of competition, Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023 - the first professional golf tournament applying simulation technology in Vietnam has proven to be more popular than ever when attracting 125 golfers to participate with 461 rounds in just a short time of the first half of the qualifying round.
Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023 marks a pioneering step in applying technology in golf competitions in Vietnam, allowing athletes to compete from multiple locations and flexible in terms of time while still ensuring fairness and transparency with the same competition conditions. The tournament is exclusively for Vietnamese players; in particular, male and female athletes will compete for the same championship and a prize fund of up to 600 million VND.
125 athletes compete for 600 million VND prize at Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023
The champion of Golfzon Vietnam Championship will take home a prize of 120,000,000 VND - the highest prize for professional female golfers in Vietnam.
After more than 2 weeks of the Qualifying Round, Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023 has recorded 461 rounds of 125 participating athletes. Of which, the number of Professional athletes is 39, including 34 Men and 5 Women, and the number of Amateur athletes is 86, including 76 Men and 10 Women.
The breakthrough performances caused the Golfzon Vietnam Championship Qualifying Round rankings to fluctuate constantly; the list of Top 24 amateurs and 06 best amateurs entering the Final Round also changed daily.
An excellent round with 8 birdies and only 1 bogey helped Lo Anh Van become the athlete with the best score of -7 and currently tops the rankings after 5 rounds. The Top 2 position belongs to Dao Van Hoan with a score of -5. With -3 strokes, Le Anh Duc and Vu Minh Hai are currently tied for 3rd place with Hana Kang - the only female golfer in the top 10 of the rankings.
The race in the Amateur category is no less exciting as there are only 06 places in the Finals for amateur golfers. +1 is the score that holds the top 1 position of 2 athletes Nguyen Hai Ngoc and Dao Hoang Quan. Following closely behind are 2 players in 2nd place, Hoang Minh, Dinh Duong Nhat and Nguyen Anh Tu with +2 strokes. The 3rd position of the ranking belongs to Nguyen Duc Anh Vu with +5 strokes.
Besides, many other players also left their mark with other impressive stats such as: Do Ngoc Hoang with a HIO at hole number 4 with a score of -1 stroke, ranked 12th on the rankings, Vu Tuong Huy's longest drive with 326.99 yards, or Dao Van Hoan with an impressive on green rate of 83.33%.
In less than 2 weeks, the Golfzon Vietnam Championship Qualifying Round will officially end on August 6, 2023. The challenges, pressure and competition are becoming increasingly evident. Athletes still have the opportunity to improve their rankings on the Qualifying Round table because the tournament does not limit qualifying rounds (minimum 2 rounds). This is the flexibility in terms of location and time of indoor 3D golf technology and is applied by the Organizing Committee for this tournament.
