100 OCOP booths associated with the culture of Southern provinces were introduced in Thanh Tri district.

On the evening of October 4, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Thanh Tri district to organize an event to introduce OCOP products associated with the culture of the Southern provinces. The event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Liberation of Thanh Tri district (October 6, 1954 - October 6, 2024) and to receive the Certificate of recognition of Thanh Tri district meeting advanced new rural standards.

In his opening speech, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Dinh Hoa said: Currently, Hanoi has 100% of communes meeting new rural standards, 188 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 76 communes meeting model new rural standards. At the district level, 100% of districts have met new rural standards. Notably, on September 30, 2024, Thanh Tri district was recognized by the Government as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023. This is the first district in Hanoi to achieve this title. Implementing the OCOP Program, from 2019 to present, the city has had 2,756 products evaluated and recognized. In 2024, the city will continue to evaluate and classify about 500 more products. In addition, Hanoi also has 1,350 craft villages, villages with occupations, of which 331 craft villages, traditional occupations and traditional craft villages are recognized by the City People's Committee; There are 1,090 active agricultural cooperatives; 1,695 farms; 149 production and consumption chains; more than 164 high-tech application models; over 13,000 agricultural, forestry and fishery products have been granted traceability codes. The event is an opportunity to help entities, businesses, and production households strengthen trade connections, promote brands, promote trade, and make practical contributions to the economic development of rural areas and the new rural construction program in localities.

The event will be held for 5 days (from October 3 to 7, 2024) with more than 100 booths, more than 1,000 OCOP products and safe agricultural products from 36 provinces and cities across the country, including 17 provinces in the Southern region. The organizers also said that during the event, every evening there will be a mass art performance program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital; the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Thanh Tri district; the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, especially Thanh Tri district achieving advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Thanh Tri District People's Committee Nguyen Huy Toan said: Implementing the OCOP Program, up to now, the district has 129 recognized products, of which 64 products have achieved 4 stars and 65 products have achieved 3 stars. In addition, the district has built 4 points to introduce and sell OCOP products.
