Many people came to Mai Dich cemetery, Hanoi cemetery to take care of the graves, offer incense to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.
On July 27, many relatives, comrades, and people from many places came to Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi City Cemetery to burn incense in memory of heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day.
Hundreds of people, regardless of the hot weather, traveled long distances to burn incense in memory of heroic martyrs at Mai Dich cemetery.
When entering the cemetery, everyone had prepared offerings to offer incense.
The offerings are neatly and thoughtfully arranged by the people.
People respectfully offer incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who fell for every inch of the sacred Fatherland.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Vinh (Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi) and his family came to clean up and offer incense to his uncle who sacrificed his life to protect the Fatherland at Mai Dich Cemetery. "Today is a very meaningful day for people to remember the sacrifices of heroic martyrs. In addition to visiting and offering incense to my uncle, we also came to remember and offer incense to other heroic martyrs," Mr. Vinh said emotionally.
The martyrs' graves were packed with people offering incense in memory.
The children were also taken by their families to the cemetery to burn incense in memory of the heroes who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
Youth union members came to burn incense and pay their respects to the heroic martyrs.
After taking care of her relatives' graves, Mrs. Thai Thi Hau (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) lit incense sticks for the surrounding graves. She shared: "For many years, every time July 27 comes, I have arranged time to go to Mai Dich Cemetery with my family members to burn incense and commemorate the heroes and martyrs. Although the weather today is quite hot, being able to go to the cemetery and burn incense sticks to pay tribute to the graves, all family members are happy because they have done a meaningful thing."
Although the weather was nearly 40 degrees Celsius, it could not stop the people's respect for the heroic martyrs.
At Hanoi City Cemetery, people also came to offer incense.
Flags, candles and flowers were neatly placed on the graves of the martyrs.
Many relatives of the martyrs were also present quite early to burn incense in memory. "Today I came here to burn incense for my uncle, who participated in the resistance war in Quang Tri ancient citadel. Today I felt very moved when I came to burn incense at Hanoi City Cemetery, where so many people came to remember the heroic martyrs. Remembering our roots and ancestors is a very meaningful thing," said Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi).
Due to the hot weather, many people who come to take care of the graves and burn incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs also have to use umbrellas.
