On June 18, Quy Nhon City Police said that from June 10 to 15, the Traffic Police Team, Quy Nhon City Police (Binh Dinh) had recorded and handled 7 cases of 12-16 seat cars, which were expired vehicles converted into electric cars to transport tourists in Nhon Ly Commune (Quy Nhon City).

In Nhon Ly commune, there are currently 19 electric cars and cars that have been modified to transport tourists operating illegally. Faced with this situation, the Traffic Police of Quy Nhon City have increased patrols and controls to promptly detect and thoroughly handle the violating vehicles.
Through actual inspection, all of these vehicles did not have vehicle registration certificates, did not have technical safety and environmental protection inspection certificates, and the drivers did not have driving licenses. In addition, these modified cars were all past their useful life and were modified by the vehicle owners to carry passengers, posing a high risk of traffic accidents.
Quy Nhon City Police will continue to strictly handle these types of vehicles operating in Nhon Ly and Nhon Chau communes.
Regarding the chaotic situation of modified tourist vehicles in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Department of Transport said that 4-wheel electric vehicles that do not meet the conditions for operation according to the law (organizations and individuals who arbitrarily buy vehicles without inspection, registration, and permission to operate) will be subject to administrative penalties.
In addition, organizations and individuals operating passenger transport business by road by car or 4-wheel electric vehicle must comply with the provisions of law on conditions for passenger transport business, regulations on traffic safety when participating in traffic; must be responsible before the law for their passenger transport business activities.
