Vietravel: Ready to accompany Binh Dinh tourism to reach regional and international level

(Chinhphu.vn) - Speaking at the Binh Dinh Investment Promotion Conference in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Group, said that the strategic orientation for tourism development in Binh Dinh province in the period of 2025-2030 and vision to 2045 is a strategic, long-term and ambitious journey, aiming to make Binh Dinh a leading tourist destination in the region. Vietravel always wishes and is ready to accompany Binh Dinh to realize that strategy.

After the pandemic, Vietnam tourism recovered strongly.

With more than 9.2 million visitors in 2024, an increase of nearly 84% compared to 2023, Binh Dinh is making a breakthrough and affirming its position on the national tourism map. This place possesses diverse tourism resources, converging all types, from pristine islands of Ky Co, Eo Gio, Cu Lao Xanh, to ecological mountains and forests, such as La Vuong, Ham Ho, Thi Nai Bay; from Tay Son cultural relics, ancient Cham towers, to indigenous cultural specialties, such as traditional martial arts, Bai Choi, and rich cuisine . At the same time, infrastructure is being invested synchronously, such as Phu Cat airport, North-South expressway, seaport, and expanded Quy Nhon city.

"This is the foundation for Binh Dinh to develop breakthroughs, a 'golden' time to plan and realize a long-term development strategy," Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky emphasized.

According to the Chairman of Vietravel's Board of Directors, Binh Dinh's tourism development strategy has clearly defined the roadmap: By 2025, tourism will fully recover, welcoming 10 million visitors, contributing 10% of GRDP; by 2030, becoming a key tourist destination in the South Central region, welcoming 12 million visitors (including 2.5 million international visitors), revenue of 45,000 billion VND, tourism contributing 15% of GRDP; by 2045, Binh Dinh will become a leading tourist center in Southeast Asia, welcoming 20-22 million visitors, of which 25-30% are international visitors, tourism accounts for 18-20% of GRDP.

In terms of orientation, Binh Dinh develops tourism space according to the model of "2 regions - 3 poles - 3 corridors". In which, the expanded Quy Nhon city is the core of the urban tourism, with the center being Thi Nai Bay and the Nhon Hoi financial - tourism - service complex. Hoai Nhon town is a cluster of tourism - sports - eco-tourism complex with unique highland - sea La Vuong - Lo Dieu international level. Tay Son - An Nhon promotes the strength of the cultural - historical - spiritual complex to implement multi-layered tourism development.

In addition, the province also focuses on diversifying products with high-end sea and island tourism and resorts; cultural and historical tourism associated with Tay Son heritage, Cham towers, traditional martial arts; community and ecological tourism in La Vuong, Thi Nai, Ham Ho; MICE tourism, international festivals and events; developing night-time economy, smart tourism in Quy Nhon urban area.

Regarding synchronous infrastructure development, Binh Dinh will expand Phu Cat airport to international level, start construction of runway 2 in 2025, and proceed to build terminal T2 in 2028-2030; complete the North-South expressway section through the province; upgrade Quy Nhon port, dredge Thi Nai Bay; build an automatic monorail around Thi Nai Bay; build an international yacht marina system; and gradually prepare for the North-South high-speed railway after 2030.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky commented that if Thi Nai and Nhon Hoi are well planned, Quy Nhon will soon become the leading sparkling gem of Vietnamese tourism by 2030. Vietravel is also promoting investment in 2 eco-tourism projects in Thi Nai Bay.

Regarding the field of promotion and branding, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Group supports the unification of the tourism identity "Amazing Binh Dinh - land of martial arts and heaven of literature", or Charming Binh Dinh.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky also said that it is necessary to focus on multi-platform communication, strengthen digital communication, international travel agencies; organize cultural and tourism events, encourage organizations, airlines, international travel corporations to organize international and national famtrip groups every year.

Giving advice for Binh Dinh tourism to develop more smoothly, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky emphasized the need to integrate tourism into the provincial planning as a key economic sector of the province and issue specific mechanisms to attract investment; prioritize strategic projects, such as airport runways, highways and traffic connection roads for key tourist areas, ports and Thi Nai Bay, etc.; focus on training skills, expertise, and foreign languages ​​for people and businesses; implement periodic quality assessments, digitize destinations, promote green and responsible tourism; promote regional connectivity between the South Central Coast - Central Highlands and internationally, develop inter-provincial and inter-national tour chains.
