The electric vehicle market is booming, but foreign car brands such as BYD, Geely, Wuling... do not invest in charging station infrastructure, leaving users wondering where to charge.

After the article "Chinese electric cars are flooding into Vietnam", many readers expressed their hesitation in buying electric cars, mainly because of the inconvenience of charging.

Meanwhile, these electric cars are heavily advertised with technological advantages, reasonable prices and fuel economy.

Selling cars without investing in charging stations is not a long-term investment commitment?

A reader with the account Cam Duyen frankly shared: "Without charging stations, saving on fuel costs is meaningless." That is the reason why users consider buying electric vehicles from some companies that do not invest in charging stations in Vietnam.

According to many readers' opinions sent to Tuoi Tre Online , if there is no large and effective charging station system, users will have great difficulty using this type of vehicle.

Charging at home is also not a feasible solution for the majority of users in Vietnam, especially those living in apartments or urban areas with limited space.

There are still solutions, including Chinese car companies when entering Vietnam proposing home charging solutions or other charging station development units.

However, according to readers, this is only suitable for a small group of users because most users in cities, densely populated areas, apartments, alleys... find it difficult to invest in a charging station at home.

Duy Hung, another reader, said that selling electric cars without building charging stations, only advertising home charging. "I wonder how many people actually have the conditions to charge at home?"

The reality is that installing charging equipment yourself requires not only space but also costs. Not all users have the financial capacity and conditions to invest in their own charging stations, especially when many first-time electric car users do not want to spend extra money on auxiliary infrastructure.

Besides, some opinions say that the fact that car companies do not invest in charging stations is a sign that they are not committed to the long-term in the Vietnamese market.

Reader El Matador expressed doubts that a brand that only focuses on sales without paying attention to building a support infrastructure is not trustworthy.

That is why many Vietnamese consumers are still hesitant to buy foreign brand electric vehicles.

Choose cheap, accept risk?

Looking at developed markets like Europe and the US, where charging stations are built synchronously and widely, consumers can easily use electric vehicles without worrying about finding a place to charge.

The strong investment in charging station infrastructure is one of the reasons why electric vehicles have become popular and become a green consumption trend in these countries.

In Vietnam, charging station infrastructure is not yet synchronized, except for VinFast, which is investing heavily to cover all of Vietnam.

However, customers who buy electric cars from other brands than VinFast will not be able to charge at the charging stations invested by this car company. Therefore, customers who choose to buy electric cars from China or some other brands are facing the problem of charging.

Reader Hau Hoa believes that based on actual sales figures, we will know whether a car is selling or not. The number of cars sold is difficult, the distributor is also losing money.

If Chinese car manufacturers want to stay long-term in the Vietnamese market, they need to consider building and developing a convenient charging station system that is large enough to meet user needs.

Many opinions say that if we do not invest in charging stations soon, the wave of Chinese electric vehicles may quickly decline, like many brands that have failed before in the Vietnamese market.

No charging stations, not many warranty stations, poorer quality, less convenience and durability, so how can you choose?

If you choose a cheap price, you accept the risks involved, and even if you resell it, it will be difficult to find a buyer.
