In the context of an increasingly competitive and deeply integrated market economy , branding has become a vital factor for businesses and production and trading establishments. Within the province, all levels of government and relevant agencies have actively collaborated and implemented solutions to support businesses and production facilities in their brand building journey. Building a brand and establishing customer trust is considered the "key" to increasing the value of businesses and products, contributing to enhanced competitiveness. To date, the province has initially developed several promising brands in the fields of plant seeds, processed agricultural products, and construction materials.

Building a brand and enhancing product value.

Research and breeding of high-quality rice varieties at Vietnam High-Tech Agricultural Seed and Materials Joint Stock Company (Van Phu Ward, Viet Tri City).

Sectors and localities are focusing on exploiting support programs to promote the development of key products with competitive advantages; integrating various programs to support and create momentum for businesses and production facilities to achieve positive results in brand building. Many business and product brands in the province have been gradually growing stronger, with products and services highly appreciated by consumers and honored in many programs and awards.

Over the past period, the Ministry of Science and Technology has actively supported businesses and production facilities in implementing the declaration of applicable standards, labeling of goods, declaration of conformity to standards and regulations, registration of barcode usage, registration of intellectual property protection, and creation and development of collective trademarks.

During the period 2020-2024, more than 120 provincial-level science and technology projects were approved in the province, including 26 projects under the Intellectual Property Development Program with a total budget of 19.54 billion VND; and 6 projects under the Program to support businesses and cooperatives in improving productivity and product quality with a total budget of 7.5 billion VND.

This contributes to increasing product value, enhancing competitive advantages in the market, shifting from a single-unit production model to a centralized production model; intellectual property-protected products are controlled in terms of origin and quality, and brand value is increased.

The agricultural sector supports improving product quality through the organization and implementation of safe production processes and the OCOP program. The industry and trade sector supports businesses and production facilities in developing typical rural industrial products; replicating industrial promotion models, promoting trade, and participating in the Vietnam National Brand Program...

In 2023, Phu Tho province had 3 products/product sets recognized as outstanding rural industrial products at the national level, and in 2024, 2 products will achieve the status of outstanding rural industrial products in the Northern region.

Most recently, in November 2024, the province had three products – Prato ceramic tiles, CMC ceramic tiles, and CMC Galaxy glazed ceramic roof tiles – from CMC Joint Stock Company (Thuy Van Industrial Park, Viet Tri City) recognized as achieving Vietnam National Brand status in 2024.

Vietnam High-Tech Agricultural Seed and Supplies Joint Stock Company (Van Phu Ward, Viet Tri City) has established its brand in the market with distinctive products, including the J02 rice variety.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, General Director of the company, stated: “J02 is a purebred Japonica rice variety originating from Japan, imported by the Institute of Agricultural Genetics. The company holds the exclusive rights to select, produce, and market this purebred variety nationwide. Its advantages include strong stems, good lodging resistance, cold tolerance, and wide adaptability; the cooked rice is soft, sticky, and flavorful. Combined with the company's collaboration with various units and localities in organizing numerous promotional conferences and demonstration models, this has contributed to spreading awareness and building the brand for the product. To date, J02 rice is grown in all 13 districts and towns of Phu Tho province and over 30 provinces and cities nationwide. Along with seed production, the company has expanded its business into rice and processed rice products, creating a closed-loop supply chain from seed supply and product distribution to processing into commercial rice for consumers.”

To successfully build a brand, along with the support of relevant agencies, businesses and production facilities themselves must strive to improve product quality and design; actively promote their brand, and flexibly expand their distribution channels. Successful brand building creates momentum to boost production and business activities of enterprises and production facilities, contributing to the overall economic development of the province.
