On the evening of March 30, a plane carrying a delegation of 80 officers and professional soldiers from the Vietnam People's Army to Myanmar to help overcome the consequences of the earthquake landed at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar.
Welcoming the delegation were representatives of local authorities, the Vietnamese Ambassador, the Vietnamese Defense Attaché, and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar.

Speaking with Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein at Yangon airport, Major General Pham Van Ty, Head of the Vietnamese delegation, expressed his deep condolences to Myanmar over the heavy losses caused by the earthquake on March 28, and hoped that Myanmar would soon recover from the disaster. The Yangon Chief Minister thanked the Vietnam People's Army for promptly sending forces to support Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake, emphasizing that this demonstrated the good feelings between the two countries and peoples.

Immediately after arriving at the airport, the Vietnam People's Army delegation continued to travel by car to the assembly point in the capital Naypyidaw, about 450km from Yangon, to discuss and coordinate with the other side to deploy a plan to search for the victims.
