New rural construction in Quai Nua

Leaders of Quai Nua commune handed over houses under the program "Warm home, social security" in 2023 to poor households.

To effectively implement the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", mobilizing resources among the people to implement the criteria, Quai Nua commune has done a good job of propaganda to raise people's awareness of the significance and great benefits of building new rural areas in order to create consensus in implementation. Many diverse and practical forms of propaganda have been deployed by the commune such as: Through conferences, village meetings; activities of associations and organizations; through the loudspeaker system, social networking sites... In the first 9 months of the year, the commune has organized 12 propaganda conferences with integrated content on building new rural areas for more than 1,400 participants; posted 13 news and articles on the fanpage of the commune's Fatherland Front Committee. After being propagated, people in the commune were ready to join hands to contribute working days, funds, and donate land to build infrastructure to serve the common interests of the community. From 2022 to present, the commune has mobilized people in 10 villages to donate 3,830m2 ^of land to have land fund to build cultural houses; mobilized people in Ten village to donate 420m2 of land to expand the road to the village; mobilized people in Giang, Cha, Nong Lieng villages to build solar lighting systems on the road to the village.

Mr. Luong Van Hien, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quai Nua commune, shared: In order to help people develop the economy, increase income, and improve their lives, the commune actively mobilizes people to work enthusiastically in production, boldly change the structure of crops and livestock to improve efficiency. In the past 2 years, the commune has mobilized people to plant more than 260 hectares of macadamia; replicated the model of growing grass to fatten buffaloes in the villages: Ten, Bo Giang, Chan, Cha... Joining hands to eliminate temporary houses for poor households, people in the commune actively participate in contributing and supporting the "For the Poor" Fund to help households in difficulty; mobilizing resources to support poor households to build solidarity houses. Recently, the commune has completed and handed over 6 houses under the "Warm Houses of Love and Social Security" Program, Phase 1, 2023. Currently, the commune is focusing on supporting the construction of 47 houses under the Project to mobilize support for building solidarity houses for poor households in the province and 22 houses from the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Up to now, some households have completed the construction of houses, the remaining households are urgently building.

Notably, in solidarity to build a cultural life, the commune mobilizes people to well implement regulations on civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals, eliminate bad customs, preserve and promote the nation's fine traditional cultural values, proactively register to implement "cultural families" and "cultural villages". By the end of 2022, the whole commune had 1,185 households achieving the title of cultural families (accounting for more than 80%), 9/12 villages achieving the title of cultural villages. Joining hands to protect the environment, keeping the village green and clean, in the villages, a number of effective models have been established and maintained such as: 5 no model; "Bright - green - clean - beautiful residential area" model; "Residential area protecting the environment and responding to climate change" model; "Self-managed security team" model... Every month, people in the villages organize environmental cleaning, garbage collection, and drain cleaning; Many households have proactively dug holes to treat waste at home. In order to ensure security and order at the grassroots level, the villages have also established mediation teams in residential areas to resolve conflicts and disagreements among the people. This has helped limit the number of complaints and petitions that go beyond the level of the authorities, violations of the law, and strengthen solidarity among the people...

Focusing on effectively implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", Quai Nua commune has become one of the leading localities in building new rural areas in Tuan Giao district. The commune was recognized as basically meeting new rural standards since 2019 and has so far achieved 17/19 criteria (2 criteria of poor households and income have not been met). The material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, the average income per capita reached nearly 35 million VND/person/year; the rate of poor households has decreased to 30.9%, near-poor to 25%. This is a great motivation for the Party Committee, government and people of Quai Nua commune to continue to unite and strive to complete and improve the criteria for building new rural areas in the coming time.
