At the press conference after the victory over Hanoi FC in round 3 of V.League 2023/2024, coach Tran Tien Dai revealed surprising information that the players of Hanoi Police Club did not receive bonuses after winning the championship last season. More precisely, the police team did not pay additional bonuses, the players only received a bonus of 5 billion VND from the organizing committee.
This morning (November 4), the Hanoi Police Club announced that it had disbursed all of this money. The amount is not small, but compared to the 3 teams that won the V.League in the past 10 years, that amount is only 1/3 or half. When winning the V.League, other clubs often receive additional bonuses from the governing body, the team, sponsors, and localities for the players in addition to the bonuses from the organizing committee according to the tournament's regulations.

In 2020, Viettel Club received a total of 9 billion VND when winning the V.League. This figure includes 3 billion VND from the tournament organizer, 5 billion VND from the parent company Viettel and 1 billion VND from the Ministry of National Defense.
Quang Nam Club won the 2017 V.League, the team was awarded 3 billion VND from the tournament organizers, 200 million VND from the leaders of Quang Nam province and more than 3 billion VND from businesses and sponsors.
Binh Duong Club, the champion of V.League 2014 and 2015, was also awarded a total of about 8-10 billion VND/season from the organizing committee, provincial leaders and the team's parent company.
Hanoi FC is the team that has won the most V.League championships in the past 10 years. The capital team's bonus has never been lower than 10 billion VND (including bonuses according to the tournament's regulations, from sponsors and the managing unit).

Thus, it can be seen that the Hanoi Police Club is a completely different case compared to previous V.League champions. Sharing after the match last night (November 3), Coach Tran Tien Dai - who will leave the team's "captain" position to hand over the position to Mr. Gong Oh-kyun in the coming days - said: "I have done everything possible to touch the compassion and honor of the players so that they can compete in the context of not receiving bonuses".
Hanoi Police Club started the season well. After losing to Thanh Hoa Club in the National Super Cup match, the reigning V.League champions remained unbeaten in their first 3 matches (2 wins, 1 draw) to earn 7 points, temporarily ranking 2nd on the 2023/2024 season rankings.
