National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Prime Minister Li Qiang agreed that the relationship between the two countries is in a stage of profound, comprehensive and substantive development.

On October 13, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man had a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly welcomed and highly appreciated Comrade Li Qiang's first official visit to Vietnam as Prime Minister, which was also the first visit to Vietnam in 11 years by a Chinese Premier. He also emphasized that in the context of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China entering a new stage of promoting the building of a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, the visit is of great significance, contributing to maintaining regular high-level strategic exchanges, promoting the concretization of common perceptions and implementing documents signed during the mutual visits of the two sides' senior leaders in recent times, adding new development momentum to the bilateral relationship, including cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China.
In a friendly, sincere and open atmosphere, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Prime Minister Li Qiang reviewed the important achievements in the relationship between the two Parties and countries, and cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China in recent times; they agreed that the relationship between the two countries is in a stage of profound, comprehensive and substantive development.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that Vietnam is determined to consolidate and develop cooperative and friendly relations with China, considering this a consistent policy, an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations. Prime Minister Li Qiang affirmed that China considers Vietnam a priority direction in China's neighborly diplomacy.

Expressing his joy and appreciation for the results of the recent meetings and talks between General Secretary, President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with Premier Li Qiang, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man made proposals to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries in the coming time, including enhancing political trust, promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation in a balanced and sustainable manner, and promoting people-to-people exchanges: speeding up the connection of railways and expressways between the two sides, expanding the export of Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products to China, expanding cooperation in the fields of digital economy, green development, renewable energy, and organizing well the activities of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025.
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China continue to promote their legislative and supervisory roles in promoting bilateral relations, and promote the exchange of experiences in perfecting institutions and building a socialist rule-of-law state under the leadership of the Party.
Regarding maritime issues, the two sides need to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement high-level agreements and common perceptions, better control and resolve disagreements at sea; resolve disagreements by peaceful means, in accordance with the Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of maritime issues between Vietnam and China and on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 UNCLOS.
Prime Minister Li Qiang expressed his agreement with the proposals of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; affirmed that the Party, State and people of China wish to join the Party, State and people of Vietnam in continuously consolidating, preserving and promoting the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, actively building the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, contributing to the construction of socialist modernization in each country.

Prime Minister Li Qiang made three proposals to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the coming time: First, maintain regular strategic exchanges between senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries, to promptly discuss major strategic issues in bilateral relations and regional and international issues; ensure strategic guidance for the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.
Second, expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies; effectively implement the cooperation mechanism between the National People's Congress of China and the National Assembly of Vietnam; welcome Comrade Tran Thanh Man to visit China to enhance exchanges between the two countries' legislative bodies.
Third, strengthen the public opinion foundation for bilateral relations, organize well the activities of the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025, and tell the story of friendship between the people of China and Vietnam.
At the end of the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully invited Comrade Trieu Lac Te, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, to soon pay an official visit to Vietnam and co-chair the first session of the Vietnam-China inter-parliamentary cooperation mechanism./.
