ANTD.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc assigned the State Bank to coordinate with relevant units to organize a national conference on non-cash payment and digital payment activities before February 28, 2025.
The Government Office has just issued Official Dispatch No. 1379/VPCP-KTTH conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc on information, press reflection and public opinion related to the direction and administration work.
Specifically, Report No. 104/2025/TTDT dated February 11, 2025 of the Government Electronic Information Portal on information, press and public opinion related to direction and management, in which page 2 has content about: Mr. Safdar Khan, President of Southeast Asia of Mastercard commented on the development prospects of digital payments in Vietnam.
Accordingly, it is said that the entire Vietnamese market currently has 554,580 points accepting cashless payments.
With this strong growth momentum, Vietnam has surpassed the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, becoming the country with the highest rate of digital conversion to digital payments in Southeast Asia.

Mr. Safdar Khan also said that Vietnam still has a lot of room for growth in the number of people with bank accounts. Vietnam is on the way to a cashless society.
Regarding this, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc directed the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Minister of Finance to study the information reported in the press for consideration and handling according to authority and legal regulations, and continue to further promote non-cash payments and digital payments nationwide;
Assign the State Bank of Vietnam to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to develop and propose program content, script, components, documents, etc. to organize before February 28, 2025 the National Conference on non-cash payment activities and digital payment.
The Government Office requests the State Bank to report to the Prime Minister on this content before February 23, 2025.
