On April 5, news from Can Tho Children's Hospital said that the hospital's doctors had successfully performed surgery to remove a foreign object, a metal bullet, that had been lodged deep in a boy's nasal cavity for the past 5 years.
About 5 years ago, baby D.H.D was hit in the nose by a birdshot. Because the wound was small, the baby did not feel much pain, the family thought it was just a minor scratch so they let it heal on its own and did not intervene.

Recently, baby D. felt a lump and pain in his nose, and discovered a hard mass deep inside. His family immediately took him to Can Tho Children's Hospital for examination. Through endoscopy and X-ray, doctors confirmed that there was a metal bullet deep under the nasal mucosa.
The team performed endoscopic surgery to successfully remove a 4x4 mm metal bullet buried under the mucosa of the right nasal cavity without leaving a scar. Currently, baby D.'s health is stable and there are no signs of infection.

Doctor Linh recommends that when there are signs of suspected foreign objects, parents should take their children to a medical facility for immediate examination to avoid possible serious complications.
