After a period affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, Da Nang City is attracting tens of thousands of tourists from Korea again. In particular, the Korean market has become a favorite destination chosen by many Korean tourists to visit, sightsee, and shop.
Han Market is located at 119 Tran Phu Street (Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City). The market has 2 floors with a total area of about 28,000 m2. Each floor is divided into many different areas for the convenience of visitors when they come to experience.
Korean tourists line up, preparing to enter the Korean market for sightseeing and shopping.
Every day, Han market welcomes about 10,000 people, besides local people, international tourists from Korea are said to be the most crowded.
On the first floor, there are areas for processed foods and cereals; incense and fruit; fish sauce specialties; fresh foods; dried foods, spices; bamboo handicrafts; fishing nets, aluminum and plastic. Korean tourists love dried foods such as dried jackfruit, dried squid, etc.
On the second floor are areas for clothing, cosmetics, tailoring, fabrics, shoes, handbags, and mosquito nets. Ms. Ly Luu (a clothing seller) shared: "Han Market is very crowded with Korean customers. They often look to buy airy clothes, especially those with designs on the theme of the sea."
Traders shared that depending on the time, Han Market will welcome a lot of Korean tourists. In particular, the market will be packed with Korean tourists when tourist buses drop off their guests. At times, Han Market is almost overloaded, tourists have to jostle each other to move.
Cheap shoes and handbags are sought after by many tourists.
After being renovated and upgraded on September 6, 2022, Han Market seems to have "put on" a new coat, cleaner and more spacious. In particular, reasonable prices, no "rip-offs" because there is a department to monitor and receive feedback from customers are factors that make Han Market a famous shopping address for souvenirs and local products for domestic and foreign tourists.
The image of conical hats stands out among the crowd at Han market.

Handcrafted souvenirs attract Korean tourists to learn and shop
In addition to Korea, the Korean market also welcomes many tourists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, China, etc. The vendors at the Korean market can communicate in many languages, making it very convenient for tourists to shop.
"Because of the nature of the job, each vendor here must know many languages. We often joke that... working here, we are awarded foreign language degrees at the 'university' of Han market," said Ms. Ngoc Trang (a dry food vendor).
Through the development of flights from Korea to Da Nang, good promotion of the destination's image and many tourism stimulus policies, the coastal city of Da Nang is chosen by many Korean tourists.
According to the General Department of Tourism, in the first four months of 2023, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam was the highest, surpassing the 1 million mark, followed by the US (263,000 arrivals), and China rose to third place (252,000 arrivals).
