Da Nang holds meeting to honor Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and exemplary policy families

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Trung Chinh - Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation for the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs and revolutionary contributors.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh affirmed that the revolutionary elders, the heroic Vietnamese mothers, and the families of martyrs today are witnesses to the heroic and tragic period of the nation, with both brilliant glories and immeasurable losses. The Fatherland and the People will forever remember the heroic martyrs.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that in the bustling atmosphere of the historic March days, the city has implemented a series of gratitude activities such as visiting and presenting gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and former members of the Quang Da Special Zone Committee; visiting friendly localities that supported and contributed to the liberation of Da Nang; supporting the construction of a great solidarity house in the Quang Nam - Da Nang Revolutionary Base during the resistance war; supporting Quang Nam province to invest in renovating the national historical relic of the Quang Da Special Zone Committee Base in Hon Tau (Duy Xuyen)...

The meeting is an important political activity to widely propagate the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, patriotism, heroism, self-reliance and solidarity spirit of Da Nang people; contributing to educating the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude" for the contributions of compatriots and soldiers who fell in the struggle to protect the homeland and country.

At the program, historical witnesses who are Heroes of the People's Armed Forces interacted with the city's youth, sharing stories and memories of a time of war, of the years of fighting full of hardship but also great pride.

Da Nang City has 18,225 martyrs, the number of relatives receiving monthly allowances is 1,856 people, receiving martyr worship allowances is 13,364 people; the total number of recognized war invalids is 11,539 people (6,746 people are receiving allowances); 3,387 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers (65 mothers are still alive).

In addition, the city also has more than 100,000 people with meritorious services confirmed according to the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution. To date, more than 16,700 people have received monthly allowances, with monthly payments of nearly VND46 billion.
