Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Russia's Belgorod region wrote on the Telegram messaging app on July 28 that the Ukrainian army fired about 70 artillery shells into the province, injuring one civilian, according to TASS news agency.
In addition, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin of Russia's Moscow region wrote on Telegram today, July 28, that Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) heading towards the capital Moscow in the early hours of the same day, according to RT. Mr. Sobyanin also wrote that "there were no damages or casualties" after the attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry later issued a statement saying the UAV was targeting "locations on the territory of the Moscow region" before it was neutralized by air defense systems.
This is the second UAV attack this week, after a UAV crashed into two buildings in the capital Moscow on July 24.

Several UAVs were shot down or disabled earlier this month in the southwestern suburbs of Moscow. Russian officials condemned the attacks as “terrorist acts”.
Russia has recently begun attacking the port infrastructure of the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa in response to a drone attack that Moscow accused Kyiv of carrying out on the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia on July 17, killing two people and injuring a 14-year-old girl, according to RT.
There is no information yet on Ukraine's response to the new accusations from Russia.

Ukraine 'is attacking in at least three directions'
In its latest war update, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW, USA) said that Ukrainian forces continued offensive operations in at least three directions, along the border between the two provinces of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia, and advanced on July 27, according to The Kyiv Independent .

Geolocated footage released on July 26 shows Ukrainian forces also making small advances north of the Klishchiivka area (7 km southwest of the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast). The footage also shows Ukrainian forces advancing further east of the Robotyne area in Zaporizhzhia Oblast during counteroffensive operations on July 26.
ISW notes that Ukrainian forces are likely to have advanced further west of Zaporizhia province than the institute has been able to confirm so far.

Cluster munitions cause casualties in Ukraine?
The Russian-appointed acting governor of Zaporizhzhia province in southern Ukraine, Yevgeny Balitsky, wrote on Telegram today, July 28, that the Ukrainian armed forces carried out an artillery attack using cluster munitions on the town of Tokmak in the province, killing one civilian and wounding another, according to TASS news agency.
"Yesterday, the enemy carried out three cluster munition attacks on the residential area of Tokmak. As a result of the shelling, a house caught fire, a woman was killed. A local resident was injured and is receiving all necessary medical assistance at the hospital," Balitsky wrote on Telegram.
"The second projectile was shot down by air defense systems, the third did not explode. Bomb disposal teams have begun to remove [the cluster munition] using controlled detonation," Balitsky continued.
There is currently no information about Ukraine's response to the above accusation.
The US does not support Ukraine's attack on Russian territory
Meanwhile, Police Chief Serhii Shaihet of Mykolaiv province, also in southern Ukraine, wrote on Telegram on July 28 that an unexploded cluster munition killed one man and injured another in the province, according to The Kyiv Independent .
The incident occurred when two farmers were working in a field near the village of Lepetiha. One of them stepped on a cluster munition, causing it to explode, killing one on the spot, while the other was hospitalized.

Russia issues new warning about US transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine
Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that the US transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine is dealing a heavy blow to the remnants of relations between Moscow and Washington, according to TASS today, July 28.
Mr Antonov also said that Russia-US relations "practically do not exist at this time", and Moscow "will certainly take into account this anti-Russian step by the [US President Joe Biden] administration when working with Washington".

Earlier, President Biden told CNN on July 7 that the US decided to send cluster munitions to Ukraine due to a shortage of conventional ammunition. On July 13, US Army Lieutenant General Douglas Sims said that the Ukrainian armed forces had received cluster munitions from the US.
Russian President Vladimir Putin later said Moscow reserved the right to use cluster munitions in response to Ukraine's use of the weapon.
