Provincial People's Committee works with working delegation on foreign non-governmental organizations

On the afternoon of July 24, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the delegation of the Working Committee on Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations.

Overview of the working session.

Nghe An currently has 10 projects and 8 non-projects of foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) implemented in the area with a total committed aid capital of nearly 2.4 million USD. The fields receiving funding include: Education and Training, socio-economic development, solving social problems, health, environmental resources, etc.

Foreign non-governmental aid is deployed in districts and cities of the province, concentrated in mountainous areas...

Most of the aid was implemented according to plan and received active participation from local authorities and people in the project area; contributing to improving the capacity of local authorities and people in environmental protection, livelihood development, improving the quality of teaching and learning, health care, etc.

At the meeting, members of the working delegation and representatives of provincial departments and branches discussed and clarified the results of activities, shared experiences and difficulties and obstacles; and made a number of proposals and recommendations in the management of activities and mobilization of non-governmental aid in the province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long highly appreciated the aid of NGOs for the general socio-economic development of the province; At the same time, he hoped that the Working Committee on NGOs would continue to pay attention and introduce organizations with suitable fields of operation and full legal status to carry out activities in the province; and increase support for the province in managing activities and mobilizing NGO aid.

Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Non-Governmental Organizations Nguyen Ngoc Hung acknowledged that the management and mobilization of aid for non-governmental organizations in Nghe An has been implemented closely and seriously. He suggested that the province should have an implementation mechanism suitable to the local situation; Strengthen management, supervision, and post-inspection of mobilization, reception, use, and management of aid and activities of foreign non-governmental organizations; Develop a list of projects and areas that the province needs support for in the coming years.
