Chau Phu District People's Committee responds to voters' petitions

Chau Phu District People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the district's specialized departments and units and the People's Committees of communes and towns to regularly monitor the signed production linkage contracts to promptly resolve or propose to competent authorities to resolve difficulties and problems arising during the implementation process. In addition, at the beginning of each crop season, the Department of Agriculture and Environment invites companies and enterprises to discuss issues related to the linkage of production and consumption of agricultural products.

Voters recommend paying attention to improving orientation work for farmers in agricultural production and supporting finding outlets for agricultural products.

In order to guide farmers in agricultural production and support finding outlets for agricultural products, the district has invited enterprises to participate in linking production and consumption of local agricultural products. Thereby, in 2024, the district has invited companies, enterprises and cooperatives (HTX) to sign contracts to consume rice and vegetables locally, specifically: (1) Loc Troi Group Joint Stock Company, Hung Viet Company (Thoai Son), Ben Linh Company (Cho Moi) signed contracts to consume rice about 2,250ha/crop; (2) Kim Thuy Cooperative, Thien Chi Cooperative linked to produce rice seeds with farmers about 250ha/crop; (3) An Giang Vegetable and Food Joint Stock Company (ANTESCO) signed a contract to consume soybeans and vegetables for 2ha; (4) Kim Nhung Company signed a contract to grow water spinach for seeds for 166ha.

At the same time, in 2024, the district implemented the Project on sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta region by 2030 in Chau Phu district, with a total area of ​​1,893 hectares. Thereby, the district organized 9 demonstration models of production according to the project's process and 37 propaganda classes. From there, it helped farmers change their mindset in rice cultivation, creating a premise for expanding the area of ​​application in the following years in the district.

In addition, the District People's Committee has organized the signing of agricultural product consumption contracts between Hung Viet Company, Ben Linh Company and Huy Hung Cooperative in My Duc Commune and between Kim Thuy Cooperative, Thien Chi Cooperative and farmers in the district. In the coming time, it will continue to call for and sign contracts between enterprises, cooperatives and farmers.

Voters recommend strengthening propaganda work so that businesses and farmers clearly understand their rights when participating in the policy of linking agricultural production and consumption.

Chau Phu District People's Committee regularly directs the Department of Agriculture and Environment to strengthen propaganda and guidance for enterprises and farmers to understand clearly about the policy of linking and consuming agricultural products. In 2024, registered cooperatives and farmers to attend the Conference on propaganda on collective economic development, cooperatives, policies to support cooperative development and encourage cooperation, linking production and consumption of agricultural products organized by the Department of Agriculture and Environment. At the same time, integrate propaganda content on the policy of linking and consuming agricultural products for farmers and enterprises in training sessions organized by the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

Voters recommended strengthening training to raise awareness for farmers and businesses in linking to form product value chains and investing in raw material areas for sustainable production.

In 2024, it chaired and coordinated with relevant units to organize 47 training courses, with 1,745 farmers participating, related to the content of applying technical advances in rice production, granting growing area codes, food safety, improving capacity for farmers associated with the agricultural product consumption chain, developing human resources to serve the development of high-tech agriculture, improving capacity for households in specialized vegetable production areas, etc.
